Gamma, thanks for the comments. I will look into the beep delete setting. If not, I'm going to find that damn beeper under the hood and smash it.
Rear hatch - drive somewhere, get out, and try to pop the rear hatch with the truck running. You can't.
Infotainment system - it's been detailed elsewhere so I'll spare you. It's freaking awful.

There may be something wrong with your latch. I load stuff all the time with the truck running. Last week I pulled up to the loading dock at work & loaded some stuff in the back with the truck running. I do this all the time and never think twice about it.

I just tried the rear hatch issue. Drove out to a parking lot and left the engine running while I tried to open the rear hatch. It didn't work at first but did after I hit the unlock button on the door.
Guess you have to unlock everything first.

My 4Runner has bright, white LED fog lights but dim, yellow headlights. Absolutely absurd. Called the dealership to see if I had to let them do it to keep the ‘headlight/whatever else’ warranty intact and he said I could do it if I want. I just can’t change the actual headlight casing, can only change the bulb.
Are you changing the whole assembly or just the bulb?

You're welcome. Good luck with the beeps.

Yeah, maybe it's just because I was trained to do it with my Jeep Liberty before, but I bet that's what's going on. I'd definitely be hitting the unlock button before opening the hatch. In fact, when I found that my dad's old Liberty's hatch could be opened without hitting that button, it was a red flag. I must have been in this mindset for over 10 years, so it's not strange to me.
Though this does get me thinking. With the beep settings I mentioned a few posts back, there may be options in that part of the menu for door unlocking properties. It's been a couple months since I've been in that part of the menu, though.

That has nothing to do with being a '20 model, it has to do with the weight sensors in the passenger seat. Either they are installed incorrectly, defective, or there is a bad connection/short somewhere. Regardless, this is a critical defect and you need to get the dealer to fix it ASAP.

I’m not sure if anyone said this yet but the constant error or whatever beeps are so annoying. I have doors unlocked and I’m washing my car and it keeps beeping and beeping. Like I know.... I’m washing my car! Stop it. Have to remove the key and lock the doors for it to stop.

Yes, that's another annoying beep. Forgot about that one.
I spent a few minutes yesterday trying to find the beeper under the hood so I could disconnect it. It's definitely driver's side and sounds like it's near the vacuum booster. Didn't see anything obvious though.

I have a 2020 Off Road, and am much happier after making a few adjustments. There are enough custom options if you have the right tool. I got a Carista, and it was worth all the pennies.
Seatbelt beep? Gone.
Windows roll down if you hold unlock on the fob? Yup.
I changed some other stuff as well, but those were the biggies for me. You can even turn off a lot of the beeps when you unlock/lock as well.

Useless clock. Should have been a slot for storage with non slip mat.

Well they did some research and the result was that apparently you can't do it on the 2020s. If someone else has evidence to the contrary, please post it in here when you have a minute.

I had them do it on my 2020 SR5P. Hold the unlock button down and 4 windows drop and the sunroof opens after a “beep”.
The reprogramming is not in the key fob its in the vehicle and they need to have a Toyota tech do it.

As said before, a tech can do it or you can also do it with Carista. My '20 ORP now rolls down with the remote.

So you Bought the Carista OBD2 adapter and did you buy the 1 week or 1 year plan? If you got the 1 week for 14$ and wanted to change your 4runner custom settings after the week has expired would you have to re purchase the 1 week again to access the customization?

When I bought mine a few years ago, I bought the adapter with what was called a Pro Package. It has worked ever since on multiple vehicles that it says it supports including my son's GTI. If I was to buy a new one, I would buy the adapter with the free week, make my customizations, and not worry about it until I wanted to change something. I think you can buy a week for $10.
