Here's an old drawing from ~2016.
http://www.tophersworld.com/imagesa/kddslift1.jpg
So I think that ship sailed a while ago.
But it's cool that someone is trying it. I have a problem with bending my rear link already (the fixed side looks like a banana) so dropping it another inch or two would make it more of a problem in the rocks. The front would be a problem with skid plate interference. And the front would be easier to put a spacer plate on the KDSS mount on the control arm to raise that point an inch or so.
Good luck with the product though! I think it could help a lot for a lot of folks.

that's the exact image i was thinking of when i posted:
also spacers like this were drawn and discussed here, just never fab'd
but i didn't see anything when i did a quick search for it

Not saying it can’t or that I don’t have an idea about how to fix it using this method but there’s better ways to do it. I personally wouldn’t rely fixing other with this sway bar drop.

Thanks, poorly worded comment on my side about the lean.

Maximize your KDSS + extended travel shocks

It's easy to make and the obvious solution as an alternative to relocating the piston mount on the frame side or moving the brackets on the lower control arms up front and the rear axle. I think you might be the first to actually sell them commercially if you do sell them.
The general reason that they were not pursued was that the travel range of the suspension in the front isn't changing with a lift and the OEM system can cycle through the entire range of travel already. So lowering the sway bar to a different static position probably doesn't actually do much good and ends up causing interference with skid plates.
The rear does appear to help quite a bit with clearance of the track bar. I think most people chose to relocate the track bar bracket an inch or two higher as an alternative because it also fixes the geometry problem with an unlevel track bar. I do think this solution works great in the rear for a situation where you want a bolt on solution that's easy to reverse and you're not going rock crawling where you'll be dragging the rear sway bar on the rocks. That probably encompasses most lifted 4Runners. I suspect a fair amount of folks would probably use them.

Thanks for the info.
Yeah the front is no go really and the piston is in the exact same spot with my 2” of lift because the hard link on passenger side doesn’t allow the sway bar to go lower. Well maybe a tad bit with bushing flex. The sway bar just pivots down with the lift. Only issue i see is the bushing prematurely wearing because it’s kinda binded at ride height and then you introduce more droop with an extended travel coilover.
As for the rear , at full bump , the sway bar is still sitting higher then the full cell so I don’t see it being an issue but I totally know what you mean about rock crawling and full compress , it has a higher chance of getting hung up but I don’t think it will.
As for the correction bracket you mention, I like the idea but same time the one that eimkeith makes is cool but I don’t like that I limits the up travel. I am doing some r&d on my own bracket. I think it just doesn’t need to be that high. Or I’d go up one bolt hole then cut off the rest. You can see bellow that it will contact the frame cross member trying to achieve full Oem bump location. Which my setup allows.
Not my 4runner.
And also really I did this for the contact of the rear sway bar and track bar but also what it does is allow for a shock up to 26” full extended to fully droop out and still have room before the kdss sway bar gets inverted. Which the Sonoran steel track bar only allows for 25 1/2” is shock.
I think anything more then 26” extended shock, one will completely remove the kdss to gain true long travel.

Ahh! so someone finally made them. I didn't have a CNC at the time or I probably would have made them myself. I'm glad to know my idea worked.

I have a bit unrelated, yet a related question. I'm new to the forum and am very much looking into getting a 4Runner as my new vehicle here soon. If I do get a 4Runner, I have already admitted that I will be doing a lift to it at some point. That being said, is the KDSS option worth it if I will be doing a suspension swap anyways down the line?

If I had to do it all over again, I would avoid KDSS. I've never been happy with my suspension setup.
EDIT: I say this only because I like to go off-road at higher speeds and it feels too stiff. I am super happy with the on-road performance.
