Ah bummer. If I may ask, what aspects of your set up are you not pleased with?

Just got to throw a comment in here before we get back on topic:
I have owned a 2017 without KDSS and a 2013 with kdss. Oh my gosh KDSS is amazing! I would never want to own a non-KDSS again.
My 2013 is lifted and it especially makes a huge difference since it prevents almost all body roll while grocery-getting and makes an amazing difference leveling the truck off road as well.

This may be quite applicable as if I do get a 4Runner it will be a daily driver. Granted a lift will most likely be much further down the line as it will be the most expensive of the prospective upgrades I would plan for.

Hey it was my idea too . Seriously tho I looked everywhere and couldn’t find anything. And I went as far as creating a trac bar that almost worked but literally during testing light bulb went off in my head. I guess we have same thinkn.

I wholeheartedly agree. Now I haven't had a NON-KDSS runner but for what I use mine for it's been great, which is occasional tough offroading but mostly overlanding and mild offroading. I think MT or LT would be effective if you are doing ROCK GARDENS and stuff like that but even then I've found ways up challenging obstacles, granted I don't look as cool and flexed out LOL. I'm 3" lifted and haven't had any issues to date BUT love how stiff it is on the concrete even weighing 6500 lbs.

LOVE the KDSS. Not only does it stiffen up on road driving (and gravel road driving) but the magic of it is that it actually INCREASES travel off road over a stock truck. Toyota says an extra 10cm on the Land Cruiser - I’ve been unable to find the # for the T4R or GX. It also notably smooths out washboard roads.

Not sure if you all have seen this one. Haven't checked if it's the same as 5th gen system either. Assuming it's similar. Mine isn't bad so not too worried.

Yeah I have no problem with that. I say go for it. If it can help others out good for you. I haven't been here for a while and when I saw your post it was a funny where have I been here before moment.
I lifted mine and am lucky not to have a lean but noticed others where having problems with it. Like you I looked at the problem and came up with a solution. Our solutions were too similar not to point it out.
Good luck with your endeavor.

That being said, is the KDSS option worth it if I will be doing a suspension swap anyways down the line?

I would say definitely. Even with an aftermarket lift it will keep your vehicle more stable.

Hi!! I'm interested in maybe buying but I'm a beginner when it comes to suspension so I have questions. I have Dobinsons suspension, 2.25" in the rear and everything else is stock in the rear.
I did the test of elevating the rear to see if the trac bar was contacting the sway bar and yes it is a little bit (kind of the same way that you post on your instagram story).
It doesn't seems to have rub a lot tough. I think it will touch when offloading at high articulation am I right? But when I do trails, I'm not doing fast speed thing. I'm always in low gears and do obstacle slowly.
Can something break very bad or do something bad at long term for something in the suspension? What could be the effect on short and long term? I think if I pass obstacles slowly, if it rub, it will rub slowly and not be that bad?
I'm in Quebec, Canada, so with the dollar conversion and shipping it's a little expensive. Thats why I'm hesitant to buy it.
So what do you think guys? Will it be absolutely necessary? I'm interested in knowing what could happen in short and long term. Thank you very much for your help and sorry for the few mistakes, I'm not English at first.

Go to the IG page linked in the OP. Head to the web site and sign up.
Unrelated to this question ...
Every time KDSS is mentioned in a post the great KDSS vs Non KDSS debate begins. It's like ya'll can smell the bait and come runnin'.

Nothing will happen. It will contact and maybe rub the paint off. It will also limit travel some. Nothing will break.

Basically eliminating the contact will I turn make your parts last longer. The contact puts a lot of
Load of the actual track bar and it’s bushings when contact is made during real life operations. Same with the bushing for the sway bar. The sway bar is a little more burly then the track bar so I think that parts ok. But I wouldn’t want any metal on metal contact.
It’s just going to help. Put it that. No other down sides because having to buy another part. And yeah shipping to Canada is not cheap as well as the conversion. Sorry about that. But you guys get taxed less sooooo lol. Jk.
Also another benefit is you get way more security in not inverting your kdss system.
