Trd fox suspension spacer lift

I have seen spring preload spacers. But I think that it will sacrifice the ride of fox shocks. Is there a reason I couldn’t use top hat spacer to get the lift I want. Use 1 inch top hat spacer to get a 2 inch lift, and clock the top hat 45 deg on the struts so the bolts line up on the correct sides

Would that work and keep the ride quality?

After a ton of research and self reflecting (lol), I ended up going with the Westcott Design’s Fox Lift Kit. Jeff Westcott has about 20+ years experience with Toyota. He specifically designed the lift kit to work with the Fox suspension. Everyone’s review’s I’ve read states that the ride quality improved and that it’s the way the TRD Pro should’ve come from the factory. I haven’t received my kit yet but I believe I’ll have it by next week. I’ll report back when it’s all installed.

Westcott Design’s has a few videos on YouTube about the lift. There is one in particular where he talks about it being at full flex and the suspension itself isn’t bottoming out and hits the bump stop. That right there is what sold me. Well, that and Jeff seems like a genuine, hard working person that believes in their product.

Although I don't have a TRD w/Fox, I have spacers that go on the top of the front strut, between the strut and the frame (from Rough Country). The ride quality is the same, shock travel is the same, spring compression is the same. The only difference is the spindle is moved down a couple inches.

That’s what I’m thinking. You are not preloading the spring. Only thing it bottoming out the shock. But that can be fixed with bump stop drop.

With the spacer between the strut and the body mount, the spring/strut length is the same, thus as you stated, there is no spring preload.

The wheel down travel is limited by the shock, but that travel distance is the same with or without the spacer.

Like wise, the wheel up travel is limited by the bump stop at the top of the shock, but that travel distance is also the same, with or without the spacer.

Ok so with 2 inch corn fed spacer. It rode stiff as hell. Didn’t like it. So I put in 1 inch top hat spacer and rides smooth and plush. Only issue is the UCA is contacting one coil at full droop on drive side only. That can be fixed with new UCAs.
