I just watched the video in the first post and now im kind of thinking about buying it lol.

I'm using a ram mount w/ suction for my ipad mini when i use gaia on the trails but it kind of blocks my view of the front passenger area. this may be a good solution.

I ended up getting one of these, came in the mail yesterday. It definitely feels like a quality unit. Very rugged.

Can you put up a pic of how you were originally planning to mount your CB?

I have a Uniden 520xl which I have been trying to figure how to mount it on the top middle part of the dash....I think this would do the trick. Ideally I'd use this mounting plate to form a front that I could fab up another shelf off the back of (based upon your "this sits too high" comment), and mount it to the top of the dash. Would have to figure how to hide wires, but obviously just brainstorming right now.

Thanks

I like how it doesn't block the clock like the Expedition Essentials one does. Also, it's cheaper.

It was an easy choice for me and I have no regrets. I’m a neat freak and I love how it looks like it was meant to be there. A quality product that was super easy to install.

With your emergency glass breaker tool on the right by your leg, and mounted to the center console - does that bother you at all? I have contemplated mounting my CB (Uniden 520xl) down there, but have thought it would hit my leg and be annoying.

Any regrets with putting that tool down there?

It doesn't really bother me. I Forget that it is there.

I have it in a pretty secure pouch and thought it was the safest place to access in a emergency but also safely secured if i'm involved in an accident.

That CB might fight pretty nice there , they are pretty thin, But it all depends on you.
