There is no "set" voltage that speakers should see. They'll see voltage when they need to play sound.

Im referring to the voltage (possibly range) I should be seeing if I test the speakers incoming wire.

for more information Im troubleshooting a powered sub that taps into the rear door speaker wires.

that's a really odd way to set up a subwoofer. it should be on it's own channel and not adjustable based off the front/rear fade of the head unit

This is a powered sub so not a standard setup (Kicker HS8) but thank you for the response.

fwiw i have a powered sub power by power inverter and tapped into rear speakers

for audio and sounds great. Only wish I could get 400 watts from inverter so I could use a larger sub.

To get any consistent (and relevant) values, you should specify the test tone to use (60 Hz? ) and what "volume" should you set in the head unit. The voltage will increase as you turn up the volume. I don't have a stock system, so I can't help you.

It sounds like something we used to call a "Passive Subwoofer" system for home audio.

Non JBL still has a powered amp for the rear. So be cautious.

I had to completely re-due my system because that hidden amp was causing all kinds of issues.

What year did you run into this? I didn't run into any issues with my 17 and I have the premium (Non-JBL) sound with the extra speakers all powered off the HU

2019 Off Road Premium. I tried a AX-DSP to drop down the power to my new amp but due to the higher power of the rear stock amp it caused tons of issues.

They sell a harness for the rear that will correct the over power issue from the rear amp.
