I am looking as well in Phoenix. Does Toyota sell these yet?

You just need to drill a hole through the sheet metal in two places to get to two nuts that are welded in place below the floor. I drilled it from the top using the tray brackets as a template, but if you took out the spare you could probably due it from below too.
That answered my question. Thanks.

See now that's nice. Uniform, tidy, symmetrical, all the good stuff.

I got on board with the 3x plano case method for storage and that seems to work for about 90% of trips so far.

I see lots of people talking about how much it saves their back loading groceries but I mean not really you still have to pick them up to the appropriate level, but anyway lift with your legs not your back. Doesn't anyone deadlift anymore?

Anyway, I got a Pro before understanding that the tray helps to level out the interior for sleeping platform usage, so I guess that's nice to know but I'm a tent camper and am not about to go hide from danger like some Hobbit.

Bruh, we're not all 11 ft tall.

How do you deadlift or lift with your legs when the top of the cargo deck is at waist level for most of us ~6ft tall folks, requiring your legs to be fully extended (straight) while stooping over with a mostly curved back to pick up and unload something stored at the deeper end of the cargo area?

What the sliding deck enables you to do is to bring the cargo out to a more neutral pickup position so lifting the load without having to stoop over is a possiblity

Maybe it's a good thing this is a 4runner forum and not a fitness site.

I'm 6'4" so I more or less feel like I'm 'putting things into', not really 'lifting things up into' if you know what I mean.

The tray is still not a very good design. Toyota should have installed more substantial tie downs directly to the tray instead of relying on ones on the floor or on the back of the 2nd row. Just makes it hard when you want things to stay on the tray you have to tie them down, but if you move the tray with things tied down on it, they slide off/fall behind the tray.

Cargo deck and kids

I use mine to shuttle my kids in and out of the back of the truck. It's one of their favorite things to do in my 4 Runner!

Nice fit! Did you just drill straight into the plastic or did you secure with a nut and washer on the underside?

Yeah, I'm not loving the absence of proper tie downs. I'm really trying to convince myself it's good for me but I think drawers of some sort will be my next mod.

I'm done with Jeep for awhile. Especially now that Fiat has designed the JL. They are having all kinds of issues with bad welds and trackbar issues. I have an athlete I coach that has a '19 and it its stock and had death wobble. I will always love Jeeps, but always hated driving lifted ones.

How are those d rings secured to the tray so you know the won't just rip out?

Thanks. I drilled all the way through and put fender washers and nylon lock nuts on the back side. Look for a related DIY article on Trail 4Runner - 5th Gen 4Runner Blog & Forum - Trail4R.com soon.

Here's a pics from a recent article, that shows the siding deck, bungees, and a comparison between a traditional 5lb fire extinguisher and an Element 50 extinguisher:
