H11 Low Beam Options (NOT XENON DEPOT)
Looking for H11 low beam options. I have had Xenon Depot H11 HID kit installed for 8 months. My vehicle gets low use as I work overseas so only half that time has seen usage. In the 8 months I have had 1 bulb fail and now a ballast. I also have the H9005 LED kit which has also had a bub fail. All previous failure were replaced by Xenon Depot at their cost. However, I am in Canada and Xenon Depot is now a US owned company. They want me to pay shipping on the replacement. Plus they require phtographic evidence that you have destroyed the unworkable units. Which would require me purchasing replacement dustcovers from Toyota. I have been happy with the customer service from Xenon Depot and the product is awesome when working. However, I am sick of the failures and having this many issues in such a small period of time is stupid.
Can anyone recommend another bulb or LED/HID replacement. Not bothered if the dust caps require drilling as I already have the holes.

Kinda in same boat. I'm done with Xenon. I spent extra for Phillips bulbs and their junk. Drove 2 hours on them and tore them out. Bright and dark spots all over the place. Customer service went to hell. No return calls or emails. I'll give them 2 more days then ask PayPal to return my money.
After reading the forums d
Seems the best option is H9 halagens in a 4runner.

i've been running the katana brand LEDs from amazon for both the low ( h11) and high ( 9005) beams. these bulbs are 6500K and are very bright.. so far no issues. also i've read that these are similar or perhaps the same as the sv.4 sold by headlight revolution @ 3times the price.
disclaimer: i know adding LED bulbs to halogen projectors and reflectors is not the best solution, but i'm not willing to pay $1100 for the morimoto solution at the moment. i did re-aim my headlights as the cutoff's had gone up from halogen to LED.

Hate jumping on bandwagons, but I just went through this over the last week.
Had a Xenon Depo kit for about 2 years. Had intermittent problems with one side firing but could never track down any loose connectors. Just swapped it out for a Morimoto kit and have been happy so far. The quality of the Morimoto kit does seem higher, at least the connectors and wiring.
Here’s a comp, Morimoto 4500 on the left, Xenon Depo with Philip’s 4300 on the right.
Service with with Xenon Depo was always great, I just figured I’d try something else, mainly due to my 1 failure and that, after reviewing other products, their ballasts appear to be rebranded and available elsewhere for much less $$$, although that’s admittedly speculation based off appearance.
I think the long story short is a lot of these “kits” can be faulty, so stick with one of the bigger companies that provides good support, or spend big bucks and get an OEM system like Denso. I run Denso in my Cruiser and those suckers fire up instantly. Hope that helps.

I had the same exact experience as you. I previously always went with Xenon Depot on all my cars and never had any issues. However, since they sold to the US company i've had nothing but issues. Don't get me wrong, Xenon Depot stands by their warranty and they have warrantied all my defects with no questions asked. But same as you since i barely drive the 4 Runner and i've had 3 bad ballast in less than a year i decided that next failure i will move on from Xenon Depot.
Looking at doing the Morimoto H11 kit next time.

Definitely gonna follow this post. I just want something that works well and I’m willing to pay-to-play as long as it doesn’t cause issues or break

Auxbeam F-T1 H11 (70w/8000lm)
Comes with a ballast but you don't need it. Which is nice cause you don't have to cut holes in dust caps. They work great and are about $50 on Amazon. TRD Jon on YouTube did a review on them you can search for it.

I hate xenon depot. I have had nothing but terrible experiences with all their LED products. Nothing but premature failures and they are hella expensive. I swapped 150$ worth of crappy xenon depot LED of which they would not honor warranty to 8.99 for a 20 pack on amazon. The color is better, they are way more reliable and retain the exact same warranty 1-2 years. I do not understand why everyone on this forum is constantly jerking off xenon depot.

I am so sorry for the bad customer service guys, that is not how we handle things here. There are a few of you guys on here that are either having issues or waiting on responses, please PM me your order number and issue, I'll personally handle it.

Damn. All the posts in here make me worry for the future. I've had some Xenon Depots in my rig for a few months now. Haven't had any issues yet. I'm hoping they last.
It seems like on multiple threads on this board, people will complain about XD and then XD replies saying that they'll take care of it. Shouldn't it have been taken care of before it got to this point on the message boards?

I'm going to do Philips H9's before i do a more permanent costly upgrade. Still more research for a good headlight replacement. I was thinking morimoto.

I have been running Xenon Depot in my 4R for the past 4 years. I have am currently using LED's in both my Lows/Highs without issue. I wanted to try something new and just purchase and received their new HID H11 and now after reading some the previous posts/threads regarding these bulbs has me questioning whether i should just send them back and spend the extra $$ on some Head Light Revolution HID's.

I wouldn't worry about it, XD is owned by TheRetrofitSource. Essentially, XenonDepot, TheRetrofitSource, Headlight Revolution, GTR Lighting and Morimoto are all the same company.

Always on the search for better low beams. Been running the base XD HID kit for 4yrs with zero issues.
Waiting on Katanas now. The XV2 got poor reviews on this site as well as the LED Morimito lights.
Might do a retro with one of TRS LED projectors later but that’s risky rolling the dice on about $600.
