Does any company offer or makes a rooftop sun visor cowl?

Been searching all over the cant find a manufacturer or any leads to find one, might have to go the custom route. Pops had one on his 2nd gen.

Why? It's not going to block any sun that the sun visors won't (and even then, probably less)

My 4Runner has a thick strip of heavy tint along the top of the windshield, pictured below. My truck came with it, but it's probably pretty cheap and effective. Unless you just want it for the looks, in which case this doesn't help.

I'm pretty sure there is a reason you don't see these on vehicles anymore.

@OP - Never mind the animals on this board, they haven't been fed in awhile. You gotta love this place, someone finally asks a question that hasn't been asked 1000 times and no one can give a straight answer.

I remember seeing those on a lot of fords back in the day. I thought they looked pretty cool back then. Who cares if it does anything for the sunlight, if you like the way it looks go for it.

To answer your question, I've never seen a vendor that sells them, but I bet there is a market for them. I mean after all, people on this board pay $150+ for battery trays, $250+ for molle panels or even the ungodly price for $385 for a frickin shelf between the back windows. It safe to say if someone makes it, people on this board will over pay for it. Some of them are probably cussing this post right now. You wouldn't catch me dead with some of the wheel and tire combos I've seen posted around here, yet life does go on.

I say go for it. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. It might not be for everyone, but who cares.

I know Lund made them for trucks back in the day, but have not seen them for these station wagons.

"...but I bet there is a market for them."

People who want to get 4 or 5 mpg less?

This 2016 TEP w/KDSS is a big step up from the 1986 Subaru GL wagon I used on the Outer Banks beaches for 14 years. That thing would go anywhere in the sand on 185/70-13 tires. Dual range 5 speed, factory skid plate, 3 position manually adjustable rear shocks and armored exhaust. All factory, including the white spoke wheels. The front sub frame finally rusted apart.

Aw, that's so cute, the way you call them station wagons.
