Side view Mirror vibrates

My apologies, tried searching for this issue and nothing really comes up. Anyways have an annoying vibration on the driver side mirror that it distorts vision. Worst on hwy speeds and with medium volume setting on the radio. Took it to the dealer and they claim nothing wrong and added some "rubber damping", it actually made it worst. =o(

Any ideas?

Not sure if you are the original owner or not but do you know if the mirror is the original? I have had to replace side mirrors on vehicles in the past and the aftermarket replacements all vibrated as you mention.

If it's not an original mirror it will vibrate, if it is the original mirror try pushing on it around the middle and see if it snaps, there are 4 clips and one might have come loose

Bought it new. Only 2500km on the odo. Went back to the dealer and they've ordered me a new one. hopefully they fix it.

Let us know how it works out, I think you are the first with such an issue that I have seen. My guess would be either the mounting bolts were not tight enough or something wrong with the mirror fold mechanism from the factory.

Good luck

Shaky Mirror Fix 4th gen 4Runner

My side mirror was shaking a lot and the actual mirror housing seemed looser than it should be. There's a removable plate (just snaps on/off) on the bottom of the mirror housing and 3 Torx screws that hold the housing onto the support arm attached to the car. Two of those screws holding the housing onto the arm were very loose for me. I tightened them and vibration stopped. I was able to easily get the plate off with small flat screw driver and some care and it snapped right back on when I was done. 5 minute fix.
