2014 Limited - Center console Carplay USB to replace blank?

I have a 2014 Limited and am going to replace the head unit with an aftermarket one (DMX906S). My question is about adding a USB port to the center console where there are 2 blanks currently.
I'd like to know if anyone has added a Carplay compatible USB port to this area and what part(s) they chose for the task.

You can get a Toyota-compatible USB port that has at least a 3' cable (though that might be cutting it short, you may need 4' to reach there) and route that through the center console to the back of the head unit.

Toyota has two switches; normal size and short stubby ones. You'll need a short stubby one for that slot.

Why not use the factory USB port for CarPlay using Metra USB adapter for Toyotas? That is what I did with my Kenwood headunit. The adapter is needed as the Toyota USB port wiring is not a standard USB connection on the headunit side and an aftermarket head unit is going to have a standard USB connection.

But my Kenwood also has a second USB input that can be used for Android or another digital source. I used the supplied USB cable with the headunit and installed in one of the slots you pointed out by drilling a hole/slot in the side of the blank.

Do you happen to know the part number for the port that'll fit?

I would have used a panel mount USB passthrough for a cleaner install... IF you can't find a USB switch blank that fits the OEM spot.

A USB pointing straight up would just be asking to collect dirt/debris over time.

So where are the heated seat buttons on your rigs? My 2012 Limited has them in the blank spots you guys keep referring to.

The newer Limiteds have heated and cooled seats with the knobs being at the bottom of the center stack.

This looks awesome. Can you give a quick rundown of how you did this and what USB ports you bought for this??

Additionally, I can’t find a thread about the following either:

I found this mod in a Taco forum on how to move the EnTune USB into the armrest, which would be great to get the cords out of the way. Can someone confirm if this would work the same in a 5th Gen Runner? I’m not familiar enough with the head unit/wiring to confirm myself.

It’d be slick to pair this with BeatSonic to get a sleek CarPlay setup!

I cannot tell if the stupid PM system actually sent you a note, so apologies.

Regardless, can you advise where you purchased the second USB port? Thx!
