Installed Victory 4X4 BLITZ Aluminum Bumper with HF APEX 12,000 lb Winch
Installed a Victory 4X4 BLITZ Aluminum Bumper with HF APEX 12,000 lb Winch this weekend.
I really like the bumper.
The winch just barely fits but places pressure on the power steering return line and if you don't mind it touching the grill.
I had to remove the control box to install the bumper with the winch drum attached and then remove the hood latch, horns, and center support bar to reinstall it on the winch..
I have ordered some high temp split loom to help with the line\winch contact..
I can reach the control lever through the opening in the bumper but may need to remove several sections of the grill to access to remote switch and control cable port...
I may remove the light bar filler panel so I can see the winch drum...

Looks great.
I have the blitz bumper as well and love it. I got the steel version due to the cost difference. I threw a light bar and winch in there while installing the bumper. I am glad the winch has a wireless remote though.

Wait for the Warn snobs to chime in!!!
Looks great and the reviews on that winch are in point. You can’t argue the price either. Looks great!

Dang, that looks good. I’m going to be looking for solutions for my 2020 in the next few months. One of the concerns I’ll have is how a horizontal metal bar like on this one will affect the safety sense system since the sensor seems to be right under the Toyota badge up front. I’m betting a different solution will be needed for cars with that installed.
But I really like the look.

I like it, if I had the extra funds, that would be probably the first "real" mod I would do.

So, instead of using the manual switch that came with the winch, I installed a Blue Sea Systems battery remote switch. Not much space in the engine compartment so I fabricated a mounting plate... I still need to run the wireing for the remote switch... The remote switch is just mounted temporarily with foam tape for now... I have a 6 switch mount on the way that will go in the bottom cubby...

This is a great post. I have been looking at the Blitz bumper but am torn between steel & aluminum, light or no light. I don't hard 4 wheel but ski a lot and would like some recovery options if I slide off the road on way to or from the mountain. In regards to your Blue Sea switch it looks like you have rocker buttons from 2 different models. Did it come with both or did you buy an extra? Also Great job on the mounting plate you made for it.

The winch will pay for itself the first time you need it. I got stuck in a snowdrift on Thanksgiving day out in the middle of nowhere... Would have been a hefty tow bill after I hiked back to somewhere with reception.
I use my lightbar often as well. Great thing to have on unlit mountain roads. Deer sightings are more enjoyable when you're not trying to dodge them at the last second.
