Mike,

I have the following on order with a local shop.
Front: C59-302 coils; GS59-700 twin tube struts
Rear: C59-327 coils; GS59-701 twin tube shocks

The order has not been filled yet due to the COVID delay with getting product.

I'm wondering about changing the order to replace the the twin tube struts/shocks with IMS struts and shocks.

Would I be able to stick with the same springs? What is the availability status of the IMS struts and shocks? Can I order from you directly?

Thanks

Can't answer the availability question but regarding springs...

Yes, you can stick with the same coils thankfully. That is why the IMS (and MRAs) are 2.2 bodies so they could be compatible with the current line up with coils.

I have a somewhat similar set up (302/700 Twins up front and 325/701 IMSs in the back). Went from 705 twins in the rear to 701 IMSs and at first was a bit ...disappointed by what seemed to be a minimal improvement. Off road the compression was much better when coming off a ledge. On road it didn't feel as comfortable as the 705 valving (expected). Fast forward 2?-3 months and 10k miles later with a lot of full compression moments...WOW the IMS rears are excellent! Super comfortable all around, quick to cool down (rears run hotter of course), and on-road manners are splendid. Really felt like you had to break them in by cycling them heavy. If you can afford, I definitely recommend going IMS all around. I will be replacing my front twins with IMS when they go out.

Yes, you can change to the IMS, due in another week or so for the fronts, and use the same coils. Those coils are sold out tho so you will lose your place in line if you're already in line to get them. You should talk to who you bought from as they may have a cancellation fee. I'm happy to take any orders though if you're able to change and don't mind a wait.

IMS 50700 or 50574

Mike, I'm running 314/325 set up with Bilsteins, I'd like to raise the front end a little to make it more level. Which should I go with the IMS 50700 or IMS 50574. Thanks in advance

Hey bud, I'd suggest the IMS59-50574. They're longer and will be more ideal if you're looking for more lift.

Here's the link, they're in stock right now: Dobinsons IMS59-50574 Monotube IFP Long Travel Front Struts

Thanks
Mike

Got my IMS kit installed last week, and already out on the road. C59-300 in the front, C59-599 for the rears. I was going for a 2/1 lift.

Thanks again Mike!!

Are the 574's okay to use on KDSS considering they are kept to a max of 3" lift?
I'm thinking of getting those with 302s. I have stock-ish front weight right now with just skid plates, prinsu and sliders. But I may add a front bumper at some point.
In the set up is says the coil seat height should be 213mm or 226mm, can they be set somewhere between those points? My understanding was, the 700s would be at 213mm and 574s would the 226mm. But can the 574s be set at 213 to retain the amount of lift from the springs.

Yes, there's no issue using any struts up front with KDSS. And yes, they can be set at any height coil seat since they're fully adjustable.

Hi Mike,

don't recall if I've ever asked so, when you have spare time, a stupid question or two for you below...

basic info: in terms of weight already have a dual batt setup with already another ~ 50 lbs static in rear from cargo and I'm planning on ordering a SSO slimline bumper or C4 brand soon and think it might be good to do the suspension about the same time (i.e. added weight).

2017 trd, weekly driver with mild off roading (I hate mud but it's florida even streets get swampy)... so my goal would be >= 2.5 front lift (<3) and ~ 1.75-2 in the rear (neither have to be exact #s), I like the idea of adjust-ability so I'm thinking the MRR line.

1) would you recommend something other than a setup such as MRA59-A700 + C59-325 + MRA58-A701 + C59-314? yes, I'm sure more parts are required, spc 25480? diff drop kit, sway bar end links, etc but the gist of the config, is that sound or am I off? note: I figure I can change the rear springs myself later if roof rack, skids or anything else add more weight to the rear

2) I'm in Miami and it's unlikely I'd ever be near Jax for any reason but would your shop be able to do the install a) how much would the labor cost on top of parts? b) how long would that be a day or would it be longer?

3) would you recommend anyone closer to Miami that wouldn't mess the install up worse than a DIY attempt? I could always pick up parts from Dobs in Doral and try the install myself if I drank enough tequila to think it worth the risk.. * stupid grin *

p.s. am holding off on skids (cost/mula): florida isn't so rocky and I don't expect to ever go near moab

So with the upcoming price hike, if I order now and they aren't in stock will I get the lower price? I don't really need rear springs, I just swapped to 329s but kept my OME shocks. The ride is okay but it seemed like the drivers side shock bottomed out at full droop. Honestly could have been that way it's whole life... I didn't do the original install and haven't checked before.
Would you expect to have 574 struts and 302 springs in stock at a similar time? Are you still selling full assemblies?
Thanks

Yes, anything ordered this month is at the current price. The 302 coils are due in early May, but they're selling through super fast. Struts are in stock now, and yes you can get the strut caps and assembly

1. Yes that's the basic correct combo of parts. Plus the add-ons
2. I don't operate a workshop anymore, too many headaches and time-wasting visits in that sort of operation, so I only sell parts now.
3. You can talk to Lux Tires there in Doral, they've installed them before. You can still buy from me on Exit Offroad are the Dobinsons Suspension Experts in the USA and pick up the parts at the Dobinsons warehouse. If you've never done a suspension install before, I wouldn't recommend it as a first go with the resi suspension.
