"It’s almost smoother the faster I go over dips. There are some RR crossings that used to be quite rough, but it floats over them at speed. Wish it was softer over smaller road bumps…"
Sounds like a proper suspension to me! It cannot be expected to also be plush at lower shaft speeds at this price point.
Honestly, I don't even remember how stock rode on road but I sure will never forget how many times it bottomed off road and how unbearable it was on pavement in turns or high winds.
I am also not surprised that Mike did a great job

I think this is key. I had some discussions with Accutune before purchasing and I’m confident I could have gotten exactly what I wanted with zero compromises, but it would have cost many times more and likely come with a much more frequent maintenance schedule. I do think Dobinsons may be the sweet spot.
I think as this suspension continues to break in I will be quite happy with it. I’ll actually be towing a trailer this weekend and Im curious how it will handle!

For the first time since November 2020, the Dobinsons UCA's are finally back in stock!!!
Anyone who has been incredibly patient and waiting all this time, they're shipping out today and over the next couple of days. But the great news is that there is a ton more in stock also, so if you're in the market for some ridiculously beefy UCA's, check these out!!
4Runner UCA's by Dobinsons also suit GX470 GX460 and FJ Cruiser

Need advice
I'm looking to do the Dobinsons IMS lift kit. 2015 4R SR5 with 3rd row seating. Not looking to go crazy but I do want to go to 285/70R17 when tires are do maybe next year. I also want to be able to use a RTT. I'd like to not have to change out the UCA yet but could do them next year before tire and maybe even new rims. Something around the 2.5f/2r is what I was thinking. This is my daily driver but want to feel capable off road. Thanks

Hey bud, welcome to the forum!!
So for that setup, here's what I'd suggest.
C59-302 front coils for 2.5" of lift
IMS59-50700 front struts
C59-325 rear coils for 2" of lift
IMS59-50701 rear shocks
SE59-529 rear sway bar extended links
All of that can be chosen on this page here: Dobinsons IMS Suspension Kit Toyota 4Runner 2010-21 | Exit Offroad
With the 2.5" front, you can get away without the UCA's on there. Adding them later will help with front end articulation and ride quality as well as a better alignment. And the rear sway bar links will put the sway bar back to a proper working position so that the rear rides as nice as possible.
If the RTT was to stay on the vehicle all the time, year round, the C59-327 would be a more ideal set of springs, but if it's only on there seasonally, the 325's will ride nice when it's not on the roof.

Thank you for the fast response. Do you know if this is stuff is in stock as I've seen stock issues for alot of suspension parts lately. Also would I need to do the transfer case drop as well?

My website lists when something is on backorder. it's only the front coils right now, due in mid/late September.
No, there are no transfer case drops done on 4runners. You don't need a diff drop kit either.

Hey Mike, is it possible for me to lower my spring perch from 222-215 or so while it’s on the vehicle still?

It's possible but not easy because you're fighting all the preload on the spring. Watch the IMS video on my YouTube page as I explain it all there.

Mike, I recently noticed my black dust cover on the front driver side has fallen down. Is there an easy way to get this pushed back up and locked in place without disassembly?

Unfortunately not, there's a washer that goes into the upper lip of the boot to hold it up there, and there's no way to access it and get the dust boot back on there with the coil in the way

Thanks! I’m trying to get a better understanding of how this all goes together since I’ll be doing this myself and had these per assembled. Do you have a video link or diagram to show how the IMS are assembled?

Here’s a 2015 3rd row with IMS. 302s at the 213mm setting and 327s on the rear, it rides great even without a load. 285s and the UCAs haven’t been upgraded in this photo. Alignment was good and tracked fine.
