In my opinion, these are one of the best options for output.

From pictures, it seems like stock with HIDs beat them for peripheral lighting but at the cost of forward throw due to having to lower the headlights because of the cutoffs.

Stock also has the advantage of not taking the whole freaking bumper off to service the lights.

The Pros may actually be better than the Morimotos peripherally, but I haven't got a set of those so cannot say for sure. The Pros are half the cost and have great output. The morimotos are non serviceable.

The Novas may actually be the best of the bunch. We won't know until someone tests them.

With the Pros, you have to remove the headlight to service the low beams, blinker, and side marker light.

With the Novas, you have to remove the headlight and send it in to Alpharex.
Alpharex should note this issue on their product page, To save customers from returning their product and having to deal with that BS. They should be up front about it. It’s not like they didn’t know about it. How could they not?
If I would have known that I would have to take off the bumper every time I need to remove bulbs I probably would have held off on buying my set.

I’m on the fence of returning them at this point. Too lazy to take off my bumper and reinstall my stock set.

I guess they want to take that gamble on customers like me who might just keep theirs.

Yah. I think you should keep them. Even though we have to take them off, at least they are serviceable by us and we don't need to ship them out if a bulb goes out.

HID and LED bulbs should last longer than halogens. I don't see myself servicing the bulbs for 2 or 3 years.

Can you post some pictures of the front of the truck? Do you like the look of the aesthetically? Thanks for all the info!

I put some up in the first post. You're welcome. I'm kind of indifferent to the look. I thought stock looked great, but these are appealing. Not ugly or "ricey" to me by any means. I was more after the performance.

This pic was taken in the same spot. Factory headlights vs Pros. You can see how it lights up that road marker on the drivers side with the Pros but not with the factory lighting. I would have needed my fogs in with the factory lighting to light that up.

My passenger side needs work though. Stock has it beat a little for up close to the right work. Gotta loosen and aim right a tad.
Now on a PC it still looks like the cut off is bad upfront and close with the Alpharex. maybe because they put a type of surround from the projectors?
1st pic is yours, 2nd is my old XB and for comparsion I put up the stock H11. In the stock H11 follow the crack center the road, coming towards the runner and shifts to the left. Cant barley see it with the XB. My pics were taken at the same spot within inches of each other. I'll need to wait for more photos. If someone could post before and after shots taken from the exact same spot, camera planted front / center of the steering wheel that would be awesome, thanks

They do look very similar to the XB. I took my pictures from a drivers POV to include some of the instrument cluster.

However, my H11's seem no where near as bright as yours. Perhaps they were aimed too low from the factory.

Here's a comparison between stock and alpharex pro. Same spot, relatively same camera position.

So this is my first post ever on the forum. Hi gents.

I’m actually taking a delivery of a 2020 TRD Pro in about two weeks and one of the first things I want to address are the headlights. This thread is right up my alley.

Forgive me if I cover some ground that already has been covered on the board; I’ve tried a few searches, because I know that can get obnoxious.

This seems to be the third option I’ve seen for upgrades.

Option 1: OEM w/ H9 or H11 bulbs
Option 2: Morimodo XBs
Option 3: These

Full disclosure is that I was going to just order the XBs, but then I saw a few posts from months back about them having huge dead zones on the corners. Just to be clear: they haven’t addressed that yet on those headlights? I heard they we’re aware of the issue and were working on a fix?

Back to these. The pictures are great, so thanks for taking the time to take them and post them up. From a practical standpoint and not so much raw output, how do they stack up in the same corner areas compared to OEM or any modified versions or housing options? They seem to have good coverage from the pictures, but it’s hard to tell.

Pictures also don’t really tell the practical story. Do you find yourself really struggling to see at all when making turns without the fogs on with any of the setups? Is the issue blown out of proportion?

I've tried H9's in mine and they were great, but the factory projectors weren't great so any weird anomalies that were above the cutoff were that much brighter to oncoming drivers. I felt putting LEDs or HIDs in the stock housings would be even worse than the H9's glarewise so I didnt even consider that option.

I took them out and put the factory H11's back in.

Then I tried to run with Toyota LED factory fogs on all the time with the stock H11's. The fogs had a great cutoff and helped with the sides, but they just didnt cut it for brightness and distance.

Then I put in some diode dynamics ss3 fogs in yellow. These were awesome and really lit up the sides and front. Even though they were "dot" compliant I think they caused a little too much glare above their cutoff to run all the time. I took them off.

Now we reach this point. I put the alpharex Pros in and I am finally satisfied. I put my factory LED fogs back in and dont feel the need to use them anymore as additional lighting aids, as the Pros offer great forward visibility and adequate side visibility.

I will try to get more pics tonight. I put them in after work yesterday and was a bit tired afterwards to do any more night time driving.

If I had armor, a winch or any other aftermarket part that would take more effort to take off than the factory bumper, then I would definitely return them.

Just taking off the factory bumper can take 10-15min and another 10-15 to put back on so a half hour total ain't that bad. If you’re quick enough I’m sure it can be done even faster.

I don’t plan on installing any aftermarket bumper armor or anything else, so I might just keep them.

Added pics in the original post showing how you can't change or mess with the low beam bulb once the lights are in.

This can pose an issue for those of you who run longer LED bulbs that stick out past the dust cap too. They most likely wont clear. The wires for my HID bulbs barely cleared.

Would you say your current setup with the Alpharex Pro is less blinding to on coming traffic than the H9 were? I've tried XD xtreme hids (too much glare)and currently have H9 in my 2017 stock housing, but just not satisfied with them.

OP- what kelvin rating did you go with for the HID kit? I’m in the debate to go with the Nova vs Pro. That said if it’s marginal difference between Pro and Nova given that you have to send in the unit for any services is a no go for the Nova.
