So assuming my 302’s are actually 238’s at 14” free length Does two inches of compression with stock load at 11” really seem crazy?

And just again at this point I could take or leave the 2.5” lift I just want my truck aligned so I can actually use it and try to recoup my losses since Dobinsons seems unconcerned.
yes you're right about the length. 11" could be right at 14" (3" compression) however from 15.5" is seems a lot. My front coils compressed are 11.5" however there's nothing apples to apples about our setups

Sorry about all the headache this is causing.

If they are intact 302’a they are garbage for sure. Glad we are on the same page here. I almost feel like I would have noticed the coils collapsing when I give it some over a bump or whoop. But, this is my first modified truck so idk.

Don’t be sorry. Dobinsons is the one who is costing me tons of money and wear and tear on my body/truck.

That would mean the front is nearly 3" lower than the back......which shouldn't be the case. All you should need to get the front and rear hub to fender measurements level is 1.75" of lift in the front.

Gotta remember the fenders are higher in the rear from the factory. Frame level they are offset too.

Pretty sure those are accurate #’s.

Not trying to level my fenders. Just trying to see what’s up with my front coils. But thanks.

Well. I don’t want to pull it all apart just to find out it needs to be replaced and not have anything to swap it with.

Going to have to wait on Dobinsons to send those coils. I’m debating getting the eibach pro front setup and just putting that in there instead. Try to sell everything else and recoup some of my losses from was supposed to be a little one weekend project.

Don’t you have kdss? I thought Dobinsons had some super high spring rate coils for KDSS, 750ish vs 590ish. I wonder if you have the 302 and the kDSS is compressing it that much.

On a side not I wanted the dobinsons suspension at first but nobody seemed to be getting consistent lift results out it and they were settling a lot after a few hundred miles. I can’t tell that my Eibach has changed at all.

I do. I had the kdss offset coils in the rear but not up front (as mike advised). That was for the original planned lift. I could see the 302’s getting compressed too much by the kdss. No idea tho. Mikey at dobsions claims that this is 1/100s that is having an issue. I have little faith.

I clicked thinking the thread was about ignition coils, lol.
Still a very good thread that may have narrowed my lift decision by one.

What was the height like immediately after the original install?

Pretty much where it's at. I remember pulling the truck off jack stands and setting it down and kind of going, "Huh. Doesn't seem like that much difference." But, I looked at the skid plate clearance and kind of shrugged it off.

Replacement coils came in from dobinsons. This weekend I'll rip the drivers side apart and measure the coil off the truck. If it's in "spec" i'll have to weigh if I want to bother replacing them or not. Especially if I might have the same problem again.

I'm really hoping they mislabeled them and they are just 1" coils. That way I can button it back up and try to recoup some of my losses.

Shouda stuck with my OG plan and went eibach from the get go.

Alright so what I feared is true. They are the same length as the Warrantee set unloaded.

Also the strut caps them selves came apart when I pulled the assembly. Pretty stoked on dobsions quality and customer service. Hopefully I can manage to get that back together.

At a loss as to what to do as I wagered they might be a 1” coil. I suppose I’ll swap the springs and see if there is any difference. Something tells me I have wasted yet another weekend and another 80-90 bucks on an alignment.

Hopefully it works out for u, i would consider throwing a corned 1 spacer on if still not getting the desired height.
Good.luck!
