Initial impressions after dropping it down....

“Massive difference.”

Hopped up on the sliders and went all King Kong on the truck, hopped down, and took and initial measurement. 23”+... if they sold me the wrong coils or they are messed up I have no idea. Dobs can figure that out when I send their turds back.

I’m not sure if I will have to swap back to my original rear coils or not. It’s already looking like I might have some reverse rake. Either way I’ll have some rear coils up for sale soon.
Mislabeled or faulty lift coils? *Saga*-88454d3c-958b-4f6a-9d67-0b60facfcdc6-jpg

At a loss as to what to do as I wagered they might be a 1” coil. I suppose I’ll swap the springs and see if there is any difference. Something tells me I have wasted yet another weekend and another 80-90 bucks on an alignment.

My screen shots will tell you the specifics. But it’s one of the two rear sets. Remains to be seen.

So were the old coils mislabeled or defective? Either way it looks much better

Hard to say seeing as they measured out correct. Could be for another truck? I have no idea.

They helped dull my pain.

K so both sides are done I just need to tighten everything up (tomorrow I’m done). My initial sloppy measurements with a very sore back are 21.5/22.5 (+\- for errors).

For anyone with kdss. Unbolt the sway bar bracket (2 bolts) for the side you are currently working on with both sides in the air. When you finish with one side wrestle that bracket back on with ratchet straps and large cable ties BEFORE you start the other side. Wasted the rest of my day fighting myself.

Anyways. I’ll get back to it in the morning. Need to tend to my body for now.

Took some better measurements this morning:

22” maybe a little less drivers side.

21.5” passenger

Truck always has some lean to it. Hoping it will settle out a bit.

The drivers side strut came apart yesterday because I’m missing the bottom washer in the bushing sandwich. It occurred to me last night that that’s why it did that. That was my mistake on the initial install. Doesn’t seem to affect much, but I still took the time, and searched for the washer with no luck. I’ll want to address that ASAP just to be sure (screams internally).

Anyways i suppose that’s it for this thread unless I hear what the issue was from Dobinsons.

Lessons here:

Take pre and post fender to hub measurements.

Beer is good.

Found an OEM strut washer lying around soooo... ripped the drivers side apart again. Put the dobisons washer I had on top down on the bottom and put the oem washer up top. Problem solved.

Everything is back together. Amazing how fast you get when you do it a bizzilion times.

Just need to tq everything down drivers side and find an alignment shop.

Using a bottle jack under the KDSS piston much easier than the ratchet straps, for the next time of course. Glad you got it figured out!

Glad you got it all back together. Last time I did mine I read somewhere that putting it in 4L disables the kdss and makes it a lot easier to handle. I dunno if it actually worked or not but it sure as hell seemed like it was a lot easier to manhandle back into place than the first two times I tore it apart. I hope you dont have to do it again but just a heads up!
