KDSS Calibration

Starting a new thread as I can't seem to find any reliable information on calibrating KDSS after completing a lift. I am in the process of installing a Dobinsons lift (2.5" in front and 1.5" in back). Lift installation instructions had me turn out the shutter valve bolts on the accumulator (3 turns max), install the lift, rock the vehicle back and forth for a minute and then close the shutter valves. I did remove the front sway brackets on the LCA to do the install (big mistake - lots of wrangling and choice words getting those buggers back on afterwards).

My question - should I have the system re-calibrated after this install since I removed brackets, what does calibration do and how do you find someone knowledgeable enough to do it?

Will be posting pics of my install when done - Dobinsons lift, SSO low pro bumper, X20 winch and RCI aluminum skids. SSO bumper just arrived yesterday

All I know is what my mechanic told me briefly. He puts it on a level flat surface after the lift and there are some valves on each side he opens to balance it out. Then of course closes it back. It was a brief conversation and I wasn't paying much attention so my details may be lacking.

Here's the instructions, although I didn't do this when I changed my shocks. I used a method I found on here and didn't really mess with KDSS to much.

Regardless they (installers) should do a courtesy check after a few miles (personally around 1k, some recommend 5k). Mainly to check the suspension and all the pieces are working correctly, and level the ride again. If self installed, should get a good idea to make finite adjustments along with other aspects overlooked like adjusting headlights.

Appreciate the input - the installer (me) will perform the test and calibrate once I have the rear lift installed (doing that right now). This coincides with the Dobinsons directions to loosen the shutter Valves and rock the vehicle. I will add in the height check, drive it and check again Heading to Moab next weekend for the real test but need to get it aligned before I head over there.

Cheers - Max
