Passenger side body - Fender flare indentation, normal (?)

I had 2020 TRD PRO in black for a few months now. I recently discovered some sort of 'indentation' on the fender flare of the passenger side.

From certain angles, it can look like a 'ding'. I believe the indentation is from the inner plastic clip that flare's inner surface is in contact with, and it's causing it to bulge out a little, if you softly knock around it you can hear the differences.

Anyways, today I went to a local Toyota dealer and checked out some new 4runners on the lot. Surprisingly ALL of them had it. It's easily noticeable on the darker color 4runners. It's not a huge issue but once you notice it, you will notice it.

Little disappointed that this is standard from the factory.

I also noticed this on my car too. It’s on all four of the flares. The worse flare has 2 vertical creases on it.

Once you take it on a few 4x4 trails, you will stop worrying about flares or valences--or the paint for that matter

I don’t noticed it on mine. I checked all four fender flares and nothing. I even used a special detailer light used to check for swirl marks and I don’t see anything.

Hes referring to an imperfection in the plastic fender flare. That said, you are right, our doors doo seem to ding easier than any other vehicle Ive known. Oh well, I bought white so I didn't have laser focus on such things as dings and scraps like I did with my black cars.

I also have vertical crease lines on all four of the flares, only the passenger side has the indentation with it. But vertical lines are only on the top section of the flare.

Maybe these imperfections are for 2020's only? The new cars that I checked out at the dealers were all 2020.

All in all, cars will get dinged, wear and tear over time, no doubt. But coming straight from the factory like this is bit strange. I don't even think this is big enough concern to bring it up to the dealer when it's on all of their new ones, they will say it's a normal factory spec, a "free ding" to get us started for the future ones.

I have a 2019 Voodoo Blue and also noticed this on all of my fender flares during the last wash. I think it's just the way the plastic was made
