Hindsight 20/20, +1 for cameras.

I have an outdoor camera that faces the street, and while I don't park in the street anymore it faces my neighbors house.
Same thing happened to them, a late night collision pushed their Nissan Titan into their front yard.
Crash was so loud we woke up and saw the damage. They called the cops while I pulled the footage from the cloud storage.
The camera got it all perfectly on video. Cops used it to arrest the girl driving, was DUI, and insurance paid for the damage.
Without the camera who knows what would have happened. For Christmas that year my neighbor paid for a full 12 months of cloud video coverage as a Thank You.

Based on this occurrence I bought a BlackVue dash cam with motion detection, they can run around $200-$300, just in case something like this happens.
Do a forum search here for install threads.

Good luck man, super sh!tty when stuff like this happens to our rigs, especially with all the work and love we put into them.

Spoke to the Allstate claims adjuster. They will replace the bumper. Going to take it to a shop and have them inspect the frame just to be safe. Allstate will cut me a check.

Great news! Yeah, Seattle on-street parking can be treacherous.

Lol that Shell on Beacon Hill used to be better back in the 2000s. Had many memories of fried gizzards and catfish before hopping on the 36 metro.

I did a closer inspection and I can see the front crossmember mounting plate got a little bent. I'll need to straightened out. As you can see from the passenger side mount the bumper's crossmember is supposed to mounted flush.

So my brother has an aluminum bumper on his tacoma. Lady at his apt basically rolled her her car forward against it while looking at her phone or something and basically peeled her brand new Ford sedan open from the bumper to the door. Several panels just torn back. The pics were crazy. Shearing impacts are bad because they damage the frame horns up front. His bumper had some scuffs but was fine. Her insurance had the tacoma inspected for frame damage and paid him for the bumper.

Its basically how my last 4runner got totaled. Side impact took off front bumper and frame horns nothing else wrong but frame was a total loss.

If it was a garbage truck, those things have a ton of gps data and cameras. They film every single side of those things. Garbage truck hit my coworkers car last week. He got out looked at it while we stood in front of him then took off. Did not end well for him.

This being in Seattle, I wonder if some SUV-hating environmentalist douche bag hooked a cable to it and yanked it out of shape intentionally.
