Woke up to this...
Came out and saw somebody had hit the left wing of my steel bumper. Definitely happened overnight as some commercial truck drove by and grabbed it. No passenger vehicle could have done this without sustaining some major damage. No notes left.
Inspected the frame and crossmember mount and it looks like nothing else moved. Called All-State insurance if they would cover the damage but I'll see what they say after the inspection.

That totally sucks!! Definitely a big truck. Any other car would have been opened like a tuna can!

Walk up and down a block or two. See who has camera's. Maybe someone caught the truck that hit you. Did you have sanitation trucks pick up garbage last night?

Your fault for being so girthy and thick ....mmmmmmm.
Just kidding, hope you figure out a way to find the culprit.

Good reminder to add all your other accessories to your insurance
Not sure about your plan, mine only covers $1k in attached accessories (with some exclusions) and anything beyond that has to be explicitly listed and added to the coverage

There is a park being renovated nearby so I'll talk to some of the workers there. I'll ask the adjacent condos if they have security cameras.

Man, I never liked driving down or parking on those 2-way streets with parking on both sides in Seattle. I like it a whole lot less after seeing this
That is an impressive amount of damage to that bumper to say nothing else got a scratch. I hope insurance treats you right.

Rather remarkable that it didn't seem to damage any other painted bits whatsoever! Life's little blessings I suppose.

That really sucks. hope fully the insurance would cover it. Time to invest in a wide angle dash cam.

Looks like your T4R is still parked straight. Did you move it?
I would think whatever snagged the drivers side bumper would make your parking skewed and have your passenger front wheel over the curb or vice versa the other way.
Otherwise that is very unfortunate. I hope you catch the a-hole and your insurance covers it.

Jeez hard to believe it ripped the wing and twisted the bumper with out getting into the front quarter panel too.
Makes me wonder if indeed it was a large truck moving slowly, but who knows.

Yes, to my surprise nothing else of the vehicle was scratched. Nothing on the fender or wheel. I double checked the lower crossmember bolts/frame and nothing was pulled out of alignment.

With no other damage I wonder if someone hooked something up to the bumper and tried to just pull it off.
Hope everything works out for you with the insurance company.

Years ago in mid winter in the a-hole of the world called brooklyn, ny I went out of my building to find my 96 Chevy Astro van almost in the middle of the street, diagonally with her butt into the street and her nose resting on the fire hydrant. Rear bumper messed up, and something else. Also a note from the neighbor who saw the city sanitation track that removed the snow, hitting it, moving it and driving away like nothing happened. After countless calls and driving to sanitation dept, I was able to find out what division cleaned that street (btw, there were lots of other cars damaged on the nearby street, probably some noob couldn't handle big truck on the narrow street).
Anyway, my quest for truth took me to the city hall, I had to make bunch of photos, write bunch of statements, take the estimate from the repair shop, notarize everything and bring it back to get the case. After all said and done they paid about half of what was estimated. Which wasn't bad. I didn't work at the time, so I had lots of free time to do that.
