Ok I just tried and mine and doesn't do that. I suspect that you do not have enough battery power. check this thread .
Headlights dim when brakes are applied - **SOLVED**

Interesting. Thanks for the link. Looks like I’ll be checking voltages later tonight.

No problem. Check this one too

Apparently you need those good AGM batteries. Something higher than 800 CCA

I wonder why though? I’ll have to check voltages to see what is going on. My battery has never given me an issue at all.

EDIT: after reading the threads, it seems like many have a similar issue. It also seems like many couldn’t fix it. I know it is related to the brake booster engaging since it only happens when the vehicle is running. A battery upgrade may be in my future.

Sorry for the thread jack. Your runner looks great!

I wish I had tried earlier this week because, up until Monday the car sat in the garage for three weeks and barely fired up that day. That would have been a great test of whether battery voltage had anything to do with it. I put it on the charger and battery appears to be topped off now.

Going to see if I can get it to show on video...

It's a little difficult to tell but focus on the slight dimming and brightening of the video slightly above the hot spot when you hear the pedal bottom out. It's very slight on video but noticeable in person.

Thanks for the update. I don't think our batteries are the problem. My battery has excellent voltage while the vehicle is off and running. I think it has to do with the brake booster activating (voltage drop). Do your DRLs flicker while the vehicle is off? Mine only does it while the vehicle is running.

I don't think this is anything to worry about TBH. I only noticed it because my garage is so dark at night.

It happens both with the car running and turned off. Not too worried about it since it's not something that would have normally caught my attention, It is so slight and only occurs when pushing on the brakes full force which rarely happens driving the 4Runner. I had a difficult time getting the camera settings correct to catch it on video. Either way thanks for pointing it out and I'm sure we'll be looking at reflections of the DRLs more often now!

This is very minimal. Barely noticeable.
