Just watched the video...

On first blush, here's what I can gather:

1. The surge is perfectly cyclical, which means it's not any sort of intermittent or transient fault.

2. The excessive slop in the slack side of the belt is synchronized to the rotation of the SC. This allows us to eliminate stiction of other accessories on the belt. The cycle starts when the marker on the SC pulley is at approximately the 7 o'clock position, and completes in 1 full rotation.

3. Factoring in item 2, would lead me to believe that there is some sort cyclical variance in the parasitic drag imparted onto the system by the SC.

Jeez, I need to wake up more to speculate any further...

Thanks so much! I checked it out on IG. That's way smoother than mine for sure. The big issue I have with mine is the eccentric flutter which causes a vibration that sounds terrible and can be felt inside the cabin.

Good eye! I'm going to take some slow-motion video to see if I can catch that better.

The problem may be rare, as evidenced by loads of different positive things I've read about the system, but you're not just judged by what goes right. You're judged by how you deal with someone having a problem, and this doesn't sound like proper customer service to me. Had it been my company, I would have put one of my engineers on a plane to come have a look at it. And if he couldn't figure it out, I'd have him install a brand new one on my dime.

This "it's not our fault and its normal" response is unacceptable. Anyone who knows anything about forced induction knows that's not normal.
Unfortunately, that's their approach at the moment. After dealing with this for almost six months I told the dealer I need my money back and to take it off and suddenly both Magnuson and the dealer changed their tune. Instead of or more attempts to fix the issues they are pretending it's no longer an issue.

I've had the belt flutter since the initial installation back in September of 2019 and the dealer has had it in the shop four more times after that to work on the issue.

I said enough is enough. If it's"100% complete bolt-on system" then I said they can unbolt 100% or fix it.

They didn't like that apparently.

Here's a video of how the dealer's demo vehicle idled with the same Magnuson kit, dramatically smoother with ZERO belt flutter.

Link for working belt drive video

And here's a longer video of my 2016 Limited with tons of belt flutter at idle.

Link for belt drive with belt flutter

Do I need to put up a poll or is the difference obvious enough?

Mine has been fine since day 1, too. Not sure what else to check other than what's already been said, but that definitely doesn't look normal. Hope you get it fixed. Keep us updated

I'll check mine after work today, but haven't noticed anything like what you're experiencing. I know how annoying having problems like this can be. Would bother the hell out of me. Reminds me of when I was having problems with downloading the tune file for Magnuson. Will see if there's anything I would check if I were having these problems

Same here mine has no issues or makes noise at idle either I'd say from the video that the belt tensioner is bad or something else not suppose to be like that. Should replace the entire drive belt system with brand new stuff.

Have an independent shop look at it and call an attorney. The amount in question probably falls outside of small claims court.

Out of curiousity, does the car idle rough at all ? Does it run ok ? If it idles, or runs rough, I'm wondering if a bad tune could also be the cause. Also, are you 100% positive that the parts changed were actually changed ?

Good questions. The engine ran like a champ before having the Magnuson kit installed, 41K miles with all scheduled maintenance done. Even when the Magnuson belt is fluttering, the engine is quiet and the factory serpentine belt is smooth as butter. Luckily, since the entire belt drive is independent accept for the pulley piggybacking off the stock crank pulley it's pretty easy to see the issue is with the Magnuson belt drive. Everyting else on the engine idles nice a quiet like stock.

It could be the tune, it's possible. I'm told many parts were replaced but was never provided any paperwork showing all the work that was done. I can tell at least one tensioner and one belt was replaced because the new parts had different markings.

Sadly, this is the path I'm taking since Magnuson and their dealer are now refusing to or can't resolve the issue. Either way, both Magnuson and the dealer won't reply to me anymore

has your mechanic taken an indicator and turned the pullies to check if they are out of round?
