Yes. I noticed that too. On those 2 VDO’s you can see that, one SC pulley has more play, just thought it was only my illusion. It could be bad pulley, bearing or SC shaft

So, at idle your belt is nice and smooth like the factory serpentine belt? It doesn't flap around or vibrate randomly? If you could share some video I'd love to compare.

Correct, nice and smooth like it should be. No strange sounds or flapping. Here's a quick video I took post installation with engine idling.

The dealer that sold me the kit has said everything is within Magnuson's specifications but would not provide the specifications or a list of what was checked when I asked.

It seems to me that even if there is some drag or an issue outside the belt drive system, the belt, pulley, and tensioner should still not have that amount of excess play. I would think that it would just result in a rough idle. Even if pulleys, bearings, etc are out of round or bad you should still not have that amount of slack in the belt.. Are we sure all the pulleys are the correct size diameter- is it possible that the supercharger pulley may have been for a different application and smaller?

I'll get some more videos showing the bypass valve. Not sure if it's working by Magnuson's specifications but it seems stable when the belts fluttering.

Magnuson nor their dealer will share any specifications.

Anyhow, I'm still working on getting my money back

You think maybe the metal bracket where all the pulleys mount to is machined out of spec? That would be the only reason why no amount of pulleys and tensioners will fix your issue. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that cause the biggest headaches.

This sucks to read and I really feel for the OP for laying out the cash only to deal with this afterwards.

What a roller coaster of emotion. You’re about to pick up your SC 4Runner only to realize somethings wrong. Fcking hell.

I’m kicking around the idea of Jet Ski or Magnuson. This thread is giving me flashbacks to chasing small issues with my brothers big turbo Honda and what a nightmare it can be to spend a bunch of money and just not be able to get everything perfect. No thanks.

It very well could be. Perhaps, something isn't concentric or it's possible Magnuson's belt drive system or tune just isn't set up to handle the Limited's AWD in every scenario.

I'm now prepared to take some formal action against the dealer, so hopefully, they follow through on their word and remedy the issue.

I will definitely share the outcome and any updates as it evolved.

I'd hope to have had this figured out by now but things sort of got derailed the last few months as pandemic unfolded.

I'm a small business owner so I had bigger fish to fry but I'm refocused on putting pressure on the dealer to make this right.

It's especially infuriating in this case because the Magnuson kit is marketed as OEM quality, quiet, reliable, one-day install, etc. Not my experience!
