False. Ever try CUE on a Cadillac?

I'm really enjoying the simple interface on my 4Runner. I've had it about a month now. It works SO much better.

Video In Motion

They said they have a plug-play unit for 2020 4runner. $175.

Def wish we had those features.

Yes it is possible. Just have to cut the speed sensor wire. Pin 27 in the Wiring harness on 2020+ 4Runners. DO NOT cut your factory harness. Buy a harness(essentially an extender) and cut that one.

See my pics.

Harness for 2020+ is a 28pin but not the same as older harnesses. Here is one: AutoHarnessHouse

Pin 27 when looking at female end of pins is on bottom row second pin from right.

You can cut it and leave it or wire it to a switch(don’t ask me how, but I also need to know this as I have a great rocker switch to add on) so you can change the access you need.

This will bypass the speed sensor which gives you access to things like WI-FI and address input while in motion which i can verify works. I needed this because the Wi-Fi never keeps its setting and its a PITA to wait several minutes before departing to enable it. During my testing I had no issues with navigation, and my passenger was able to use other functions including entering addresses manually. This bypass should not be used for the driver to access these settings.

DO NOT CUT FACTORY WIRES, BUY A $30 HARNESS. You never know if you will need to pull this mod out at a later date.

See the attached images for reference to the locations of harness and pins. Sorry new to the forum and the images are not displaying but here are the links.

Update 5/15/2022: No functional issues since cutting the wire. I have used navigation and all other functions of the head unit with no consequences from cutting the speed sensor cable on the aftermarket harness.

Update: 2/24/23: Everything still functioning perfectly. My original need was to allow my family to turn on/off Wi-Fi while on the road (due to trouble connecting) is still working perfectly. No more waiting to start or continue road trips while the built in Wi-Fi tries to find signal.

Sorry to bump an old thread but curious to know the functionality of the pushbutton for this mod. I recently upgraded my 2015 headunit to a 2020+ headunit.

I want to be able to engage the bypass and access all functions when I PUSH IN a button. Would I want a NORMALLY CLOSED pushbutton? (Considering a basic on/off pushbutton)

I believe most pushbuttons are NORMALLY OPEN and when you push the button in you close the circuit correct? So since I am trying to break the circuit of the speed sensor when I push in the button I would want a NORMALLY CLOSED pushbutton? Hope that makes sense!

Thanks in advance!
