2020 4Runner Bypass Navigation/Speed Lockout
All, I'd like to know how to bypass the speed lockout setting in the nav and audio system of the 2020 4Runner.
I've noticed that some features of the navigation and audio system get locked out once the car is travelling. I understand that is a "safety feature".
I would like to bypass it so passengers can use the nav while travelling and so the album art will appear on my music, which is what I really care about.
Can someone give me a hand with that?

I would say you can probably go the same route as a 2019, but I'm not sure if the TSS radar adds any complications to that.

Is a built in factory option to keep you and other drivers safe. Got a lil button on the steering wheel that will let you do anything you need by voice.
Looking for gas, movies, home Depot? Ask and it will list any around, you say what one you want and it does the rest. Change stations, no issues.

I wonder if Carista provides a means to turn off the album art bypass. How stupid to turn off album art when in drive.

the nav and sw in the 4 runner is the worst interface in the industry------ I bet more people get into accidents trying to use a tool we paid while underway... the voice recognition is not usable------- I am waiting for the class action suit.
I just ignore it and bluetooth my iphone into the junk system and leverage google maps --- what a disgrace

I'll use Apple CarPlay and it will let me use better apps and it will show album art and all that stuff.
Toyota is good at creating reliable vehicles, but sucks at integrating technology.

One of the only things I miss about my '20 Rubicon over my '20 4R ORP is how great the Jeep user interfaces were on the infotainment, navigation, etc. This Toyota system is awful and maybe a decade behind in comparison.

My 2009 Audi A4 Prestige had better tech, in many regards, than my 2020 4R. But my Audi was becoming unreliable and expensive to maintain at 120k miles.
There is always some type of trade-off.

Anytime Backup Camera sells a navigation override. You probably can modify it with accessory power/etc.

What's funny is if you plug in USB for AA and put display into home, AA will provide album art for the display. You don't have to revert to AA screen. I just wish the system was not so ingrained that you can't replace it with a different head unit. With 2020, you are really stuck with keeping the OEM system in place as the display size is too unique to be replaced by a 2din unit.

I'm probably the only one on the board who actually really likes their 2020 infotainment system. I wish the speakers were a bit better and there was a way to isolate the subwoofer, but as far as the touch screen, etc. I've been really pleased with it.

Motion lockout is such a stupidly annoying nanny system. Any nav system with that "feature" has zero value to me. It apparently never occurred to Toyota that the co-pilot may want to look for something, change destination, etc in the GPS while on a trip somewhere.
"Hey wanna stop to get something to eat?"
"Sure but we have to get off the the highway and stop because this stupid GPS doesn't work."
When the funds are available, I'm tearing it out and replacing it with something that isn't broken.
Makes me want to test drive a brand new LC, get all excited, act like I'm going to buy it, then back out when the wife can't change GPS destination in motion. "It's broken, the Q7 I drove doesn't have this problem."

I use the slacker radio app and noticed it works when driving as long as the accelerator isn't being touched.
