285/70/17 vs 33x12.50-17

Putting my Dobinson lift on in a few weeks and I am torn between 285/70/17 or 33x12.50-17 tires.Looking for advise on how much trouble the 33x12.50-17 are fitting.I know BMC would be needed for sure with the 12.50 and I am doing the fender liner mod.I have 17x8.5 0 Offset wheels now.So where are the 33x12.50-17 guys at lets here what you had to do to fit them and show some pics if you got them.

I would be concerned that the tires would rub the UCA. When I ran 305/70's with +1mm offset the tire was very close to my UCA's. The 33x12.5's are theoretically a half inch wider then the 305/70's although 3/4" shorter.
It required a lot of trimming to the wheel well liners, hammering down the pinch weld etc in addition to the BMC and running caster at close to 5* to fit the 305's. I'd think you'd have to do something similar to even have a chance at fitting them without rubbing.
Unfortunately every 4Runner is a bit different and you might not know until you try to do it

Yeah, it’s a ton of extra work for not a lot of gain. I’d personally recommend sticking with 285/70-17 especially with your 8.5” wheel.
