Resurrected old thread, I know that.
Think about it, you put a cover on your car and there is dirt, that is abrasive. This gets worse if the car is covered where wind can agitate the cover.
What do you do when your car is wet? Cover it wet? Let it dry? In a rainy climate that may be a few days or more.
I cuss when I am replacing the cover on my gas and charcoal grills. A cover on a car/truck - only for long term storage IMO - just like the others said.
