Need a good 12 volt to AC inverter to run a laptop up front

4runners have 4 12 volt plugs right in front, and the only AC adapter in the back. Lame!

What do you guys recommend I use to power my lappy up front?

I just use an extension cord on mine. No issues since 2016.

Hah, you know, sometimes the simplest solution is the best.

Extension sounds ideal, but if you did want to buy another inverter I highly recommended Victron. They make a really high quality smaller pure sine units too, I use them in my portable projects, like a DIY Goal Zero or Yeti kinda setup.

TRD Pro has no such thing unfortunately. If you have one on a 5th gen, it must be another model!

any off the shelf brand with 150W or so from amazon should be fine. the rear inverter is not always on so that could be annoying to remember to hit the switch every time.

If it were me I'd get a 12 volt outlet charger that matches your computer. Otherwise your taking 12 volts from the 4runner converting it to 110 volts AC, then converting it back to 18-21 volts DC to charge the laptop.

Really good suggestion... a DC-DC boost converter would be small and efficient.

Easy DIY too if you dont mind a little cut and crimp action.
