I'm sure they can be ordered, but I traded with another 2020 straight up which was a win/win for both of us.

I agree. What rails are those? I'm considering pulling the trigger on a 2021 TRD Pro, and the only thing I don't like about them is the stock rack/basket.

Get a 2020, 2021 is a useless year imo.

Just order an after market rack now. Most are drop in and no drilling. I ordered Gobi but it’s a 16week wait :-)

Is it a shame that I only kept my TRD pro 2020 rack on because it helps me find my truck in a parking lot? I just look for an ugly ass basket.

I tried selling it on here but I guess the demand for this rack isn’t there anymore, idk.

Not opposed to a 2020 if I can find one. But mainly wondering about how to get a pair of stock rails if I end up with a Pro.

These are from OffRoad 4runner. They come with the black rails. I found a awesome deal. There is a Toyota dealer not to far from me that they mod 4runners and tacomas from brand new. So I called the parts guys and he said they had a brand new set that was just taken off. Usually they have them just put back in the parts section. So he hooked me up. I won’t say what I paid but these go for a new set till they add up all the parts individually your looking at 1000 dollars thru Toyota. That is the price I checked with the Toyota dealer before I found these.

Thanks. I found what I think are the OEM part numbers for those black rails, in case it's useful for anyone else: 63447-35050 & 63448-35050. I wish it were an option to just buy with those installed. The current stock basket is sort of inexplicable to me. They look cool, but they don't seem to be very functional as either a cargo basket or a roof rack.

Yeah I agree that why I sold my Pro roof rack. No
Use for it. I have more use for just the rails. I just need the cross members to lay something across the top if needed.

Yes, there are many. I put on a Sherpa rack. Uses existing bolts and same approach to prevent water intrusion w/o needing things like silicone.

I think it depends on what you are using a rack for - mounting gear? Transporting a kyak? Just getting rid of the ugly stock rack?

Also getting a rack that comes down low enough to attach a light bar so you don’t have to drill into the 4runner. It’s either drilling, really strong magnets that I wouldn’t use nor trust, or attaching to rack.

Yeah, lightbar is another good question for OP.

Most aftermarket racks have that option. Sherpa example:

Did you use all the same holes, bolts? Any weather proofing measures like silicon? Blue tight, red tight (that’s how I keep them straight haha)?

If you have OEM rails, a ton of people have been ordering crossbars like this:

LFD Off Road - Ruggedized Crossbar 5th Gen

So, you keep the OEM rail mount points which are pretty awesome at keeping moisture out and you can install as many crossbars as you want while keeping a clean, OEM, and low-profile look.

I would have went this route instead of buying a full rack had I found them sooner. There's a vendor that sells aluminum cross bars of this variety. I forget which vendor though...

Edit: I guess LFD also makes aluminum crossbars: LFD Off Road - Ruggedized Crossbar 5th Gen - Aluminum

Hey dude, I used the same holes. But this roof rails use different bolts than the Pro rack. These have socket head bolts. The other ones for the Pro rack were Torx head bolts. I used permatex adhesive sealant clear around bolts. The bolts that came with my new rails has red locktite on them from before. I did not add any extra. There not going to come loose. Hope this helps.
