2020 TRD Pro Racks: Any After Market Drop-In Replacement Options?

I’ve looked around a lot and have seen the TRDP rack delete threads. They speak to two things primarily. One being a full delete with a kit. No rack. The other option most widely seen is to take some older Trail rails and bolt them on in the same spots the TRDP rack was bolted in.

That second option is appealing simply due to the hole patterns being the same. From there, add some cross bars and you’ve got a rack.

Some people have done some minor fitting/drilling to get other after market racks to work with mixed results. I’m not real quick to start winging it on a TRDP with 500 miles on it. Something drop-in would be ideal.

I had a 2013 Trail before this one and though the racks were pretty good, they show their age fast and I would have imagined that there would be racks on the market that are designed for this hole pattern, and would serve as a true drop in replacement.

That doesn’t appear to be the case.

I’ve seen the Baja drop in basket but that just makes no sense to me at all.

So as of now, I’m stuck with the Pro rack with a very, very limited set of options.

Have I missed something? Any decent racks that drop in to this hole pattern cleanly?

2020 TRD Pro Racks: Any After Market Drop-In Replacement Options?

I have a 2020 and I traded a 2020 with black rails straight up for my ugly FJ rack. I will be adding LFD crossbars soon. Gained almost 5" clearance in my garage. Looks way better and it super easy to swap.

Remove the Pro rack. Black rails look better.

Can those rails be ordered anywhere?

Any of you who went to regular rails notice any mpg difference? In my previous trails and orp’s, I was getting 1-2 mpg more. Only diff I can really think that would cause this is this giant ass rack.

Not a replacement but Baja makes a drop in basket. For the cost, you could sell your rack and almost get a gobi

I checked that out and though it gives the TRDP rack a little better look and some utility, it’s quite pricey and it does nothing to make the huge TRDP rack lower profile....which is a big part of why I don’t like it. Freakin huge and excessively bulky.

Given that the Trail, TRDP and some others have the same rack hole pattern, I’m a little surprised there are no After market drop in replacement options.

That don’t require any modifications and simply drop in to the existing bolt pattern?

Anyone familiar with RCR racks?

I like this one but don’t know much about them.

Yes, that’s how many rack options are installed. There are many, many threads on the popular options around the forums on installs and how they work. Your pro is exactly the same as every other 4runner besides the shocks, the rack mounts are the same for SR5s, Off Roads, pros, and the Limited (which is the only model with any significant differences from the others).

I basically only drive really short distances so my mpg sucks, but I didn't notice any difference. Maybe a slight decrease in noise, but who can tell over the TRD exhaust.
