Why did you not install the holder directly to the side of the bezil? You had to drill anyway. Just curious as I would have done that if only for one phone holder.

That's a link to another post with a pic of my setup. That thread has more info also on installation. A lot more pics of different set ups. Noticed a couple with the pads mounted up there. My setup may not work for you because it does block a bit of the view. I'm 6' and it doesn't bother me as explained later in that thread.

What are the dimensions on that CB, if you don't mind measuring it? Helps give me some sense of scale.

It measures 7-1/4" wide by about 2-1/8 inches tall, about 2-1/4" tall with the radio mount. Its also about 9" deep not counting cordage. Made another trip to Homers depot and had some soffit on the passenger dash with a moving blanket in front of it was a little worried it might block my view a bit more, just pushed the blanket down and it wasn't that bad. Three mins later I was home.
Also there is another thread going on now about a Rago dash mount. Don't have any problem viewing the clock on my dash below the mount. Check it every morning before heading to work. No need to tilt my head or anything.
Good luck....cheers!

I plan on mounting more than just the phone. The phone mount had to be mounted right away due to additional holes needing drilling versus using the standard accessory obround mounting holes on top of the bracket. The picture was taken towards the end of a long day after installing many additional items to the 4Runner. I’m going to be mounting a GoPro next as I have the hardware now, wasn’t sure what arm length I wanted till I mounted the phone and had a chance to see how that arm length looked. Currently looking into the required hardware to mount an iPad Pro 12.9. The GoPro and IPad are the main reason I bought the ICS dash mount, not the phone. The downside now is I have to change the location of my weboost internal antenna to get it closer to the phone.
I have yet to see a phone mount mounted to the dash I like. This worked for me.

I have a GoPro holder and always feel like I have a temporary solution as I need something permanent and without blocking the vent. I may go this route too. Thanks!

For me blocking the vents would be unwanted. I have the GoPro suction cup but it doesn’t adhere to the dash for long with the lightly scored grid pattern that’s in the 4Runner. The windshield could work, but I like the ICS better. Also provides more options for down the road too.

Its been almost a year for me, but still want something more permanent at the same location. Few phones I use are little on the heavy side. So far its working!
