I’m picking up the c4 hybrid bumper tomorrow. Bought 3” diode dynamics SS3 sport SAE amber fogs for it last night. I almost bought a pair of SSC2 in amber but couldn’t decide on which light pattern. I was thinking Combo but also thought about flood. I’m not out on trails at night out here in PA but could see them coming in handy if I take a trip out west. I do a lot of beach driving at night though and could use them there I guess. Wondering if flood would be more useful if they were angled out slightly to act sort of like ditch lights?

The hybrid bumper looks a little empty with just fogs in the pocket. And I’m not doing a winch yet and don’t plan on adding a lightbar.

Any advice?

Update: I got the ssc3 sport driving combo pattern lights to compliment the ssc3 fogs. Should I mount the Fogs or Driving Combo lights closer to the center of the bumper?

Supercharger

Anyone with a supercharger relocate the pump for to be able to install a winch? Is there a relocation kit or have pictures of what they did? I installed the C4 bumper this weekend and have to figure what to do?

Some others have done it for similar reasons. Hopefully you get more response or try PMing them. Let us know what you end up doing!

Anyone decide to relocate their washer tank rather than put the c4 skid on it? I have the skid and c4 hybrid bumper but I’m thinking it will look better without the skid and with the tank relocated. It would look more balanced side to side from the front. Am I over thinking this? Anyone have a pic of the hybrid bumper that shows how the passenger side with the skid installed looks as compared to the driverside?

Thanks! Also, I may test fit the bumper this weekend. Can I get away with test fitting it by removing the bumper cover and not cutting the cover yet? Want to make sure the c4 bumper isn’t tweaked before cutting the cover and before powder coating.

Yes, you can install the bumper before reinstalling the cut cover.

Good look of both sides of bumper with wash tank cover and a shot of my buddy’s 2015 stock bumper after going through ice water on the same excursion - I didn’t suffer any damages. I had, unfortunately for him, already discarded my fog light assembly.

Thanks. May have just found a relevant picture. I like seeing the springs on both sides. I may do a washer tank relocation project next week .

@BazookaJeff : my first ever trail ride I destroyed a headlight in deep icy water.

Will the power steering lines get in the way at all when I test fit? Rather not go through that part of the install tomorrow.

It seems to me that the relo was only necessary for the winch install. I would highly recommend it though if you have any intention of going back in icy water. If you don't install the winch until the final or did not go with that option, it should not be a problem for the test fit. The PS relo was by far the most difficult part of the entire project for me.

I do like that look. I rattle canned the parts of the body in silver that showed through the bumper's openings.

Got it on for test fit but my apex overland recovery points didn’t let me seat the flange all the way. Didn’t want to remove them because I was going offroad the next day. Little bit of risk that something could be off since I couldnt get it bolted completely up tight but probably not. Taking it to powder shop this week.

So my gas mileage took a huge hit after the bumper and going up in tire size a second time. I was averaging under 13.5mpg.

I just installed a snorkel, which I was not really that comfortable with my rationalizing that I needed it. I really just thought they looked cool and I know a lot of people don't. I'm at that age where I almost don't care what other people think...almost.

The good news though, my mileage jumped up to an average of over 15 mpg with the same mix of driving. I really did not believe it and couldn't figure it out. I believe what happened was that I had literally choked the engine with the bumper install. I had pulled my fender liner tight to the wheel well, and before the modification, I remember there being vents. Only explanation that I have.

So I am wondering if others that have put on the hybrid bumper or other bumpers that remove the air to the air intake have seen a drop in mpg?
