C4 Fabrications Rear Differential Skid Plate Installation

Hey Dudes and Dudettes,

If you 4wheel your rig and not just Mall Crawl, you probably have aftermarket skid plates protecting your engine, transmission and transfer case but what about your rear differential? That differential hangs really low on the back end of your vehicle and it's not uncommon for them to take some damage while negotiating technical trails. The rear axle is built beefy, but it's pretty common for that drain bolt to get messed up and then your faced with trying to figure out how to get it off when it's time to renew the fluid. Well, if you add a skid plate on your rear diff, you can prevent damage to your drain bolt and other damage to your axle housing when you're out having fun wheeling your rig.

C4 makes a nice Rear Differential Skid Plate so they are a manufacturer to consider if you're in the market for a rear diff skid.

Here's a video showing how to do the install. Enjoy the Show!

Just a note, the install in the video here is a 4Runner without KDSS. C4 also makes one for KDSS. I installed one and it is very nice. Recommend.

Also if you have installed the Sonoran Steel Trac-bar, no issues with the install of this skid plate. No interference.
