that being said, i don't have ditch lights, i just shine a flashlight out the window to see what i need

Thank you. I knew I was missing something important about them being mounted on the pillars!

I grabbed some ditch lights from a company called ElementLED before they went out of business I guess.
I've done one night trail and they were very helpful.
I haven't gone through a car wash since adding these on. Rather not take the chance of them getting snagged on their rotating brush or anything.

For low profile you can't beat the CaliRaised, I also recently switched to their sideshooter LED pods and they are awesome

I just ordered the CBI ditch light brackets on Friday, arrived to today (monday) with standard shipping. Can't beat that. Quality and thickness of the brackets is awesome. Price decent as well, only $45 pair + shipping. The good stuff stops there. Now I know why they are so cheap. I expected better from a company with the reputation of CBI
Then I tried to install them. WTF! Just like you described with the Ragu brand.
THEY DON"T F'ING FIT. WHAT THE HELL?
They suggest " that you have to do some minor trimming" modify the plastic cowling to get them to fit. Are they that stupid they can't design something that just fits?......and after the first install, are they are too hard up to redesign it? Pretty piss poor workmanship & design when with just a little effort it could be corrected.
I am also not amused. Sadly, I had already drilled one side out to fit my requirements before discovered this f'ing defect.
Glad I saw this before cutting up my cowling, Caliraisedled are on order.....

Boy that's frustrating. I was going to recommend CaliRaised since they have zero fitment issues. Good choice!

I just bought some caliraised side shooters and low profile brackets. I installed the lights but haven't run the wiring yet. Can you take a pic or describe how you ran your wiring?
Thanks

No problem, i used spade connectors for the wires, so I can remove if needed.
I ran my second wire along the back of the engine bay
I fished my wires through the rubber grommet on the driver's side of the engine bay and ran it to the dash.
And I wired them to OEM style switches
(This was before my sPod)
Then I just tapped the ilum wire from the dimmer.
If you're looking for the OEM style switches let me know, I have mine removed

Just put a set of Sq. Pro on mine with Caliraised brackets. Would recommend putting the lights on the mounts before mounts on the hood since there is less space and if using the Pro (slightly larger than sports) reverse the baja mount from what it shows in the directions. Still secure but gives you room for the larger light when opening the hood, otherwise likely to hit.

I just installed the CBI set as well. It is a little annoying to have to modify the truck. But it was simple enough to warm up the cowling with a heat gun and slightly mold it downwards. Can barely tell that I did anything. And I have done enough of that type of thing to my truck that I don't see it as a big deal.

Thanks! Damn I just ordered some yesterday morning. I wonder if I can cancel my order. Did you go with a switch panel?

I'm not arguing that it would be easy enough to do, I just seriously question why we should have to do it in the first place. It's not like there isn't enough room to fab a bracket that clears the cowling.
Plus that small fact should be mentioned front and center on the product page, but instead I have to do a search at 9pm at night only to find a CBI youtube video with that fact buried in the video.
It is not even part of the install instructions that are linked to in the box.
Definitely not excusable in any way and downright deceptive.
Almost 24 hours have passed and no response to my email......
Edit: Now going on 48 hours and no response to my email......
Edit: Now going on 72 hours and no response to my email......
I realize this all sounds a little dramatic, that isn't really my intention, but this will be the first and last time I order a product from CBI.

More questions. Looking at the Baja Design Squadrons for ditch lights. I have both a set of Sport and a set of Pro.
I know some people have said that the Pro's are too bright for use as fog lights, closer in on the pillar I can only imagine it would be more dazzling. Since it's more of a cornering light and I'm not running Baja races, is the Pro too bright?

No argument from me there.
My guess would be that maybe the design is used for more than one vehicle type, and they figure that it's "close enough" for 4Runner owners.
Probably why it's the cheapest option.

Rigid 360 6 inch lights on SDHQ a pillar mounts.
The mounts are the most heavy duty I've seen and support the light very well.
Wire harness is on backorder from Rigid for another week.
