This is a great idea. I have spare oznium bolt LED, this would be a good use for it.
Could you recommend a part number for the tilt switch you used? Thx.

Adding hardwired automatic LED light inside center console

Awesome job and write up. Can you list all the parts and where you got them from. I think I may have some spare time on my hands to do this mods Adding hardwired automatic LED light inside center console

I used this but ordered from Amazon (Canada).

Mercury Tilt Switch 844632076923 | eBay

But you can use any other tilt switch you prefer.

I bought the 11mm flush mount bulb from Oznium, no lens.

EDIT! You actually don't need to notch out a hole in your rear vent panel like I did in my last pic. I re-ran the wires along the top of the bracket/hinge and kept it in place with black electrical tape. I ran it along the top because if you taped it along the sides it would potentially rub against the plastic and maybe damaging the wires. No drilling required other than the hole for the LED.

That looks great! Glad the install worked out! I never even thought of putting in 2 lights. Looking back that would've been a better idea.

Wow, I love this mod! I have the console safe so this would come in quite handy for seeing the combination lock and also seeing inside the safe at night. Thanks so much for the writeup and examples. Definitely going to copy this!

Funny thing, I ordered the led and mercury switch days after seeing this mod 3/22 via amazon. The led’s arrived 4/28. Waited over a month for the led’s to arrive.

Oh, I got to have this!

What 'Color' did you go with? Torn between the 3 different whites (Cool, Warm, Neutral), I don't want it super bright ...

Also, what are your thoughts if 2 could be used to light up the tail gate area? Would the 1W version be bright enough if 2 were used on each side or tailgate?

Here is a link to someone who used Oznium LED's in the rear cargo area.
