Ok so it gets pried up a considerable amount and then you get in there with the flexible adapter to remove the screws before the tray comes all the way out? I'll have to source one of those as I don't currently own one.

Also, what a friggin weird design that is. Wonder why they brothers with the screws when the rest of the interior is nothing but tabs and snaps.

Yes you could pry it up till it breaks and hope it breaks in the right place.
I just don't roll that way.
I didn't know what other damage would happen.
try Harbor freight for the flexible adapter and trust me it won't be the last time you use this tool.
Click on my album page, my full write up is in there with photos.

If you don’t feel like making a permanent modification to your vehicle this will work

Amazon.com: BESTEK 300Watt Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter Car Adapter DC 12V to AC 110V with 4.2A Dual Smart USB Ports: Electronics

And here is a test and report of the inverter as well

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MnbfC88TBE&feature=youtu.be

This is the route I’m going to power the fridge through a separate solar battery bank in the rear.

You're powering a fridge with an inverter? That's a really bad idea, inverters are terribly inefficient and will waste power, keep it 12v for the fridge

He may be doing what I am doing. Not wanting to make permanent mod, I’m using a Jackery solar generator (battery) charged by the 12 volt outlet in the back. I then have the Dometic fridge plugged into the Jackery (12 volt outlet).
I could also charge the Jackery using the 110 volt inverter in the back, but would have to remember to push the dash button every time I restarted the engine, hence my using the 12 volt side. Not sure why he would need to buy a separate inverter.

Yeah, I've been looking at your album. Thanks for that by the way, nice to see how that all worked out. Image 14 and 15 are the ones prompting the questions about how much you lift the tray prior to being able to get the flexible head in there and see what needs to come out.

That is correct.

Hobotech did a video on the Jackery 1000 and found the inverter charges the unit faster compared to a standard car plug.

@Rack I looked at your album (Thanks!) I was able to pry up tray but for life of me I cannot find the screw I am supposed to take out. Anyone have any pics or diagrams?

UPDATE: I found this thread that helps explain the rear tray tabs better: Rear Wheel Well Storage?

Here are some photos of how I removed the tray.
It may require a small mirror to locate the screws but they only take a couple of turns to remove them.
The photo of the tray shows the location of the taps where the screws are.
I used a fexable adapter on a 1/4" nut driver with a phillips head.
The screws are phillips head.
I was able to put my hand under the tray to guide the driver onto the head of the screws The tray will flex up enough to allow you to do this without breaking.
