Neutral safety switch/range sensor - part #s and removal
My 2014 has had the neutral safety switch/range sensor problem on and off since last summer. I was going to tackle it this spring and with COVID-19 and more at home time. decided to jump into it this week.
I read all of the relevant threads - a lot of good info. I thought I would post a new thread to see if there is any updated information.
My 2014 calls for the 84540-60050 part no. The newer part no., 84540-35060 doesn't seem to apply until the 2017 or 2018 model year. I know some have reported using the -35060 part on older model years. I emailed an online Toyota parts dealer and they stated the part is not an improvement and to order the called for -60050. Any new information out there on the part #s?
Also, anyone have any updated method to remove it? I'm in the upstate NY, so mine is showing some corrosion. Not as bad as some of the photos that have been posted. I've been spraying some PB Blaster on it the last few days. I was thinking about trying something like the Locktite Freeze and Release. I've never tried these freeze type sprays, but I'm game to try anything that might make removal less of a headache.
