I wanted a quicksand or cement, wife wanted white. So no, and a yes. It's her car so she got white which is all she was interested in, also made it very easy to pick up since white SR5P's are a dime a dozen on the lots around here.

My first 87 was a white with gray oem zebra stripes. When I bought my second, an 01, white was hard to find so I settled on the classic silver. When it was time to trade up to the 2017, I wanted to stay with the classic silver. It's a good color for the 4runner. Finally, when I nabbed the 2020, it was silver AGAIN that I wanted. I guess you can say I have "evolved". Cheers!

Funny enough, I was not willing to compromise on the color (I'd been obsessed with the cavalry blue since I first saw it!) but I never thought I'd be able to find a used one since it is a rare color. I wanted a 4Runner but saw a cavalry blue Tacoma at the local dealership and was ready to pounce on it. While looking at it on their website, I saw a cavalry blue 4Runner. I was literally at the dealership about to test drive the Tacoma when I showed my sales rep the pic and asked "where are you hiding this 4Runner?" He informed me that they had just gotten it in the day prior and it was being detailed. It was all a blur from there but I test drove the 4Runner 10 minutes later and never looked back. I still can't believe it worked out. It was in immaculate condition with only 21k miles driving it off the lot.

Yes, chose my silver 2018. Had an identical red one offered at a lower price and stuck with silver. For me, silver strikes a good balance of not showing dust, dirt, mag-chloride as much as other colors... At least out here in Colorado...

I took whatever was available at the dealership so I didn't choose the color. My Jeep SRT was giving me such headaches, I just wanted to get it traded it before it gave me any more headaches and cost me another $2000. In 6-7 months, I dropped $6K in fixes for the same recurring issue which the dealership kept saying was a different issue but the symptoms were always the same. That's the last time I'll ever dabble with domestics. I drove into the Toyota dealership on a Tuesday I think and picked up my new 4runner on Wednesday afternoon.
I think I would have wanted the gunmetal grey or black, but I'm happy with the white. No preference really. Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence so if I didn't get white, I probably would have wanted white since the 95 SR5 I restored was painted in white. A bit of hat tip to the old boy sorta thing.

I was pretty set on buying a ORP in Nautical Blue Metallic to match my 13 Tacoma. But I found a silver 16 TEP that was too good of a deal to pass up. Really happy with it. Especially that it's easier to take care of instead of the dark blue that always stays dusty

The only color I didn't want was white/silver since I see them everywhere in Texas. I wanted the ORP but feel in love with the Venture edition, and once I found one in Nautical Blue I jumped on it. Extremely happy with my choice, but man it's basically like owning a black 4R the color is so dark - shows every pollen particle here in Houston!

Last 4R was dark red. Not ideal in the desert. Wanted a white one this time. Easy to get. My friend owns the dealership, so I just called and asked for the one I wanted and as soon as the next match for my specs was delivered I got a call and went and got it. IIRC it a week ish. They already had one matching what I wanted in transit. Original one I wanted was a non-premium, and they had two on the same truck; TEP and TE in white on the same truck. Ended up buying the premium. Other one also sold within a couple hours. At the time they couldn't get enough trail editions to keep them in stock for more than a day or two if they weren't already sold before arrival. I think that's gotten better by now.

I would never settle on color for a new car. I would just be patient and find or order the color that I want. If I can’t find it local, I’ll travel out of state to get it.
Now, if I was looking for a limited production used car, I might have 2-3 color options, as they would be harder to find in good condition.

Wanted a white TRD off road base, and got exactly that.

Was torn between MGM and NBP. Dealer had both optioned out the same way, same
Price. I couldn’t decide so I flipped a coin and went with MGM. Absolutely love the color as I’ve always wanted a dark gray vehicle. However, sometimes I wish I had gotten silver as it is easier to keep clean.

Sad to say, I wanted Nautical Blue and got it, but the dealer knew what they had at the time in the configuration I wanted and I couldn't get much of a deal. 3 and a half years later, I'm happy I got what I wanted, even if it wasn't a great deal.
