Lightbulb Rock Slider Degree question (0 vs 5 vs 20 etc)

RCI has a 15% off sale and it's time to upgrade my nerf bars to actual rock sliders.

My question is two part: thoughts on 0 degree vs 20 degree for protection, and if a top plate will in fact protect the side of the body to mud/dirt/rocks flying up. I like the top plate for standing on to reach roof, or for shorter passengers, but my nerf bars with top plate seem to stop a lot of junk from flying up on the side. Basically just asking for anyone's thoughts on the different variation of sliders available. Cheers.

Angled is better, lets vehicle slide off rather than perch on stuff. You want one that kicks out in the back rather than flush fitting (same as the angled principle). Top plate is as strong as the weld.

Opinions are like *******s, and this is mine. I have RCI angled kickout without a top plate.
