I don’t think the cost is worth it. Factory amp isn’t great and it’s over $400 from the dealer. Taco tunes have plug and play harnesses for adding an amp and look super easy to do

Factory JBL sub enclosure help
Save your money.
Can get the same thing from alpine for like $299 from Best Buy. Not sure what the extra $500 is for.

Plug and play through taco tunes is $35. No possible way that’s worth $500 even if the bracket was made of titanium
Use the to buy a set of focal fronts and another amp to run those and you’ll be way happier

If you run the factory enclosure, buy the JL or Rockford 8". The enclosure volume was something like .43ft3. Minus sub displacement, looking at .39-.4ft3. I had modeled a few different 8" subs in winisd and the JL and RF modeled the best. Pump 250w rms to these and call it a day.
You may not even need a t-harness that tacotunes sells. If your amp takes high level inputs, just tap the front speaker wires, and ignition signal, run those to amp. Power and ground and call it a day. These are subs, not much to it.

A stealth option, adds a sub, amplifies other speakers and it's tuned for the vehicle.

Question: will the factory enclosure fit a standard SR5 WITHOUT 3rd row? I've only seen it retrofitted in a 3rd row model.

Yep. But you gonna have to make some kind of panel to cover the void left from removing the pocket. I do have 3rd row rear panel envy.
@ gordy
Good job on the factory upgrade. The 8w3 is good for what it is. I've been looking for more output though, and looks like the new sundown sd4-8 with it's neo motor looks like it should fit

I was just comparing the SD4 in 8". It has about 1mm LESS depth than the JL. So it should work. I prefer the inverted surround on the SD4 as well. Helps with front clearance imho.

Yep, definitely a different rear trim panel
