This is awesome! I have the OE JBL system in my limited. Would changing the factory JBL sub out for the JL8W3 be beneficial and work out ok with the stock sub amp?

Has anyone figured out the difference (besides years) between 86150-0w120 and 86150-35080? I am about to order 86150-35080 for my 2017, but would feel better knowing the difference.

I don't know what the difference is but I can confirm 86150-35080 fit my 2017 SR5 without JBL. And contrary to what others are saying, it does come with a JBL sub (swapped it for a JL 8w3v3-4, and made a custom adapter ring - no mods to the enclosure). I like interior things being factory-looking, so I also sprung for the replacement panel 64730-35140-C0.

One comes with the sub the other doesn't

When I ordered my 86150-35080 from BAM, it came with a sub and was $171.65. It fit perfectly in the factory location in my SR5 with no 3rd row. You will need (4) 6mm x 30mm or 35mm (1.0 thread pitch) bolts to bolt it in place.

Question for the non-third row option - I've got the part number 86150-35080 sitting in a cart, ready to pull the trigger and swap out the factory JBL for a low profile Kicker or Pioneer 8" in its place. Price is right for an enclosure that won't take up any cargo space, but for the two row models, it looks like I'll need to spend another $340 plus shipping for the new trim panel...that's crazy talk. I'd rather spend a fixed $450 on the Phantom Fit enclosure with a 10" preloaded that just bumps out a couple of inches. Is there a way to get around spending on the new trim panel for the two row models? Maybe go with a black fabric or mesh liner across the opening to cover the factory sub box in the storage cubby? This would be the inspiration, but it's from a custom build according to another thread...same concept though.

If u don’t mind the unfinished look it would be somethin like this. Been months since enclosure install, no longer bothered by it.

I rocked the open panel look for about 2 years, and I think it looked just fine

@ bboy626
thanks man!! That's the picture I couldn't find after hours of forum searching..not too bad, easily can be hidden with a cover or something to "tidy it up" and keep the dawg's paws out of there. Big help.
@ 97BlackAckCL
I've gone through your build a few times lol, the open panel looks great tucked away in that small cubby with the liner but unfortunately my exposed pocket flows up the whole side of the cargo area

Sorry I missed your question up above, you could definitely get by with some mesh or speaker fabric. Maybe get some thin plastic and make your own trim panel with a speaker opening and then just buy a cheap 8" speaker grill and screw it to that. I did something similar in my 4th gen with the pocket door

I would look at the Arc Audio A10 or A12 series or Hybrid Audio Unity shallow over the JL, for the stock location requirement. JL does a lot right but they have no presence in the upper tier car audio. They just advertise well.

I hear Arc is great, in fact I'm using some of their stuff for my first audio build in the runner soon. But, I imagine you're talking about custom boxes in the stock location, and this thread is mostly about the factory enclosure which won't fit those. In fact I couldnt find any Arc subs that would fit unfortunately. The A8 is a bit too deep I think.
The JL 8w3 just barely fits, so I think that's why it's brought up often when talking about the factory enclosure. Though, I hear there's an Audison sub that works really well in there, and I may end up trying it.

Ah I was thinking the Arc A10 slim design, but I see it's still .65 sealed. Missed that!
