Here in Ontario all our provincial parks, National Parks, crown land and all local parks are closed and anyone who is not an essential worker is asked to stay home. It still doesn't stop folks from asking, "where can I go for a night of camping?". All the smaller communities that are at their limit for health care are asking people to not head out to cottage country. Unfortunately not everyone listens. Air ambulance and first responders are having to deal with folks that are going out and getting into trouble, even though they've been asked to stay home, wasting time they could be helping those who really need it.
Personally, a close friend lost a family member yesterday, another friend's father is in a long term seniors facility where more than half the folks there have died of Covid-19 and my cousin is a front-line nurse. It might seem that a person should be safe going out for a night by themselves, but, what if getting gas, they accidentally pick up the virus. Then they go shopping and spread it to others or go home and give it to their families, maybe an older parent or grandparent. If staying home will flatten the curve and get us all back out and at work sooner, isn't it worth it? Sorry for the long rant.

Hey Canuckie, How about you worry about your PM & let us Americans worry about our current POTUS!! We don't want any Liberal crap like we had from the previous 8 years POS Liberal WHO gave away EVERYTHING. Oh How about looking at HIS Response to H1N1 virus!? That's right Clinton News Network & MSNBC didn't talk about that Because they're OWNED by George LIBTARD Soros.
FACTS From the CDC estimated that 151,700-575,400 people worldwide died from (H1N1)pdm09 virus infection during the first year the virus circulated.

I don't disagree completely, but I don't agree completely either. I don't believe local/state/federal governments should be issuing stay-at-home "orders" and then issuing citations or making arrests to people who don't follow them. This isn't Nazi Germany, and we don't have to show travel papers to the Gestapo. I live in hurricane alley on the Texas coast, and if a storm is coming, an evacuation "order" goes out. What doesn't happen, though, is police going door to door telling residents to leave, and issuing tickets or making arrests if they're met with refusal. Is staying at home and social distance key to ensuring this thing ends quickly with as few casualties as possible? Wholeheartedly yes, but the government has no place to be "ordering" people to do it, or closing public property that is owned by the People. We have the freedom and knowledge to do it ourselves. If someone wants to get out into nature, as a means to and while maintaining their distance from others, they should be able to.

Obviously your actual factual knowledge is insufficient to write or speak on the subject. Reminds me of the the quote “The fewer the facts, the stronger the opinion” by Arnold Glasow.
The U.S. while having the highest “reported” death count, actually has one of the lowest per capita death rates! Your “confirmation bias” source for propaganda won’t tell you that. Before offering sanctimonious vacuous prattle about leadership in the United States, you might want look at your blackface cross dressing P.M. before commenting about other countries. I’d suggest you practice your curtsy in case the Queen comes to visit her colonies.
Here’s another quote for serfs and those seeking to be serfs.
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
― Benjamin Franklin

Haha exactly why discussing politics is not allowed, it always devolves into this. There's a separate forum for off-topic stuff but for whatever reason
@ Roverguy1
felt the need to bring politics and covid-19 into this thread. And well, now we saw what happens.
@ swampy_swimmer
, best suggestion for you is to look up local guidelines and any restrictions for national forests in your area and find a forest service roads or OHV maps to help guide you. Typically forest service roads are little more than gravel roads with a few ruts and rocks. As their name implies it's really meant for forest maintenance so most trucks and SUVs can pass easily.
Good luck.

I'd also like to know more about how to find places (once the 'rona panic is over)... We've got several off road parks, or I could go to the UP for Drummond Island... but resources for trails in MI seem pretty light (or my google fu sucks?).
