ARB LINX - Just when you thought you are done with mods!

This is a game changer, I'm not sure how this all works but this looks like a huge step into the off road future

Thats what I can't figure out.. I think so considering the back of the digital device looks like it had 4 connector mounts that mounts to the dash mount. Unless it's a case they sale to retrofit your phone?

They've put a ton of r&d towards this, impressive. I wonder how intuitive the menu is, not to be a buzzkill but this is one more thing to distract your eyes from the road.

Lack of physical buttons is what bums me out about this. I'm sort of failing to see how this really improves on what the SPOD HD does. And a lot of people have said that the touch screens are kind of annoying when off road.

I think the only thing that made me geek out is the air read out. But the only way the system can do that is by using their TPMS system, or has some sort of digital air chuck on the compressor side.

The point being is that I'm never THAT lazy where I need to hook up a tire, and go back to my vehicle to sit for 4-5 minutes while a tire inflates.

Outside of that, I think the SPOD or SwitchPro systems are pretty proven. Also as you said, this can get lost. So I dunno. It just...is.

There isn't much that we do that is "totally necessary" it's all to enhance the experience.

Its no difference from a navigation in-dash unit... it's all touch screen. Nothing that cant be learned. It's a central brain for all electrical mods.. I dont see how this is a fail, sorry bud

It's not necessarily a fail, I just fail to see what it brings to the table that's new outside of basically reusing what feels like a surplus of unused off brand android phones.

agreed or switchpros. I like they at least have real, dedicated switch panels but still offer remote switching with the phones if you want (and programming and such). I wouldn't want to always have to deal with the phone to do anything. Maybe if you have a full ARB rig with air compressor, lockers, airbags, etc it might be advantageous. I'm not there or planning to go there though.

i have knobs and buttons for all of my important things, nothing on the in-dash touch screen is critical. and you can't misplace your in-dash unit, you won't lose it or drop it on a rock and break it

major fail, it's just a worse version of an spod/switchpro

I think that's the idea, that this only really benefits those with the full ARB ecosystem. Notice it's got rear air suspension in parts of the video? I think this is geared towards the australian crowd.

It's not that I don't trust it, but word is that this hasn't been a super reliable system. I've had to exchange my digital ARB air gauge twice now. I'm not saying the SPODs/SwitchPros are without their occasional lemon, but they've also refined the product fairly well.
