Headliner Removal - Sound Deadening

Hello all,

I have undertaken the project of installing sound deadening in my 2017 TRD Pro. I completed the entire back half of the truck last weekend, but was unable to get the headliner down. I had a 2010 FJ Cruiser and was able to remove it from that vehicle. The biggest challenge is the front top console. Do any of you know how to remove this without horking up the headliner?

Just doing the back half and rear hatch, I have a 10db drop in cabin noise at 65mph. I used kilmat as the dampener and the Noico red 150 mil CLC on top of that. Still have to do the 4 doors and front cabin floor.

Thanks in advance, Dubbz

Thanks, KWSRStorm! I happened by a review of an Alpine stereo install and the guy happened to film the removal of that part. It looked to be just as you described.

I had the two bolts out, but was just scared to pull the full plastic piece out, not wanting to destroy the headliner.

I will tackle it tomorrow or next weekend, you know, since I can't go anywhere...
