Just put money down on new Toyota TRD premium

Just put money down on a new 2020 TRD premium! The dealer teased me yesterday and texted me a picture. Currently stuck at home becuase of state orders and they still need to do the clear bra. A little miffed at a separate dealership becuase I ordered the blackout emblems (direct from Toyota dealer up north) and they are the SR5, not the TRD off road emblem overlays (even tho website said it fit the TRD). Anyways, gratuitous pic of my new baby (still need a name for her lol)

Spent most of yesterday making a parts list for just about everything I could think of. I think first batch of upgrades will be intake and exhaust to try and help it at altitude as well as headlights and tail lights. Also with the headlight swap I'll paint the front valence to be more stealthy.

When I get to swapping out the bumper I'll most likely go with souther style off road with their slimline model and stage 2 clearance kit.

How is the TRD Cai? I was looking at that and a K&N. Personally I like how the TRD looks under the hood better. I am currently torn between a borla and magna flow exhaust.

Love the look and the sound is great but it only kicks in at 3500 rpm the k&n will probably give you same performance but the Trd cai is pretty when you open up that hood

Oooh Corina sounds exotic..... Been playing some games lately.... Aerith is kind of stuck in my head, but the character in the game is a bit dainty, and she, in the end will not be dainty.

So I have heard there a few small holes you have to cover up in the air box on the TRD Cai.....

The last time I checked, Magnaflow mufflers with a case length over 18", consisted of two pieces of pipe poorly welded together inside the muffler. Eventually the weld would break, and then the pipes would rattle. Shorter than an 18" case length and they used one pipe for the entire length. Those were fine.

Something to look into anyway, if you decide to go with a Magnaflow system.

Kara is good. It's hard to come up with a name. I know a guy with a red Jeep he calls Ruby. I thought that was a good name.

I have a RX350 I call Velvet. A name is just for you. It's not like they ask for the truck's name when you take it in for service. ;)

That is a very interesting thing to consider. Magna flow has its name..... But if borla has something that lives past that, 8m open for discussion

Here's my reply in a long thread about Magnaflows problem with longer case mufflers. Although things MIGHT have changed since then. I know I wouldn't buy a Magnaflow system without inspecting how the muffler is constructed, first.

Eventually that weak weld breaks, and then the two tubes rattle against each other.

In my own particular circumstance, I was looking at mufflers, and because of this thread closely inspected many different Magnaflow mufflers. What I found was that 18" (and shorter) case Magnaflow mufflers, use a much more durable one-piece tube that runs through the muffler.

I ended up with an 18" case model #11255 muffler. No issues.
Quoted from this thread: Horrible Experience with MagnaFlow

Of course the shorter the muffler case is, the louder the exhaust sound.
