I placed an order a couple months ago for their stage 2 kit Foam Cell Pro w/KDSS and it’s suppose to arrive early June. I was able to take advantage of the 25% and the wait time was reasonable compared to others so it seemed like the right choice, but after reading some of the recent feedback here I’m not sure I made the right choice.

I’m considering canceling my order and waiting it out for something else, but wanted to hear from some of you regarding any long term or recent updates. Thanks!

Not a long term review, but about 8 months and 5k miles. Can't overheat them on extended wash board runs. Very comfortable ride but firmly controlled over larger bumps / rock steps.

Do what makes you happy.

I am at about 15k miles and about 1 year with the suspension. I am super happy with the suspension. I am about to do another week long camping trip. I will post up some videos and pictures soon.

For those of you with KDSS how much lift did you actually get front and rear? I ordered the performance 2.5” front and 2” rear.

Looks like some are actually getting 4” on the front and 3” on the rear. Interesting because Ironman claims you’re supposed to get a 3” - 2” lift. With KDSS it looks like most recommend don’t going over 2.5” front and 1” on the rear.

Ironman 4X4 Foam Cell Pro 2/3” Lift Kit Stage 2: 5th Gen 4Runner Install

I got the Ironman KDSS Compatible Adjustable Rear Panhard Bar Kit to help with the droop.

Is this a quality control issue? I wonder what factors would cause this much higher of a lift compared to advertised lift height? Are the springs too tall, spring rate too strong, perhaps both? If they do occasional testing to make sure everything is calibrated correctly, how else could this happen?

Just curious because I have a similar issue with my Dobinsons lift being 1" higher than it should be front and back compared to the advertised lift height. To me it's unacceptable to be that far off.

I’m also considering this lift due to the value and having kdss. Hope to hear more real world reviews. Looked all over YouTube with little success

My buddy has a GX with KDSS and their kit. Likes it a lot. Has the performance 2" rear springs.

I have their 2" HD rear springs and it's pretty stiff, which is nice for higher speeds so it doesn't bottom out, but makes for a bouncy ride lol. Have 5160's and will go Kings later on.

I posted this in another thread, but it will copy here for visibility as well.... Oh and I've got approximately 60k miles on them.

Been running the Foam Cell Pros since May of 2017. Zero issues. I wanted a height-adjustable, reliable, twin-tube design and that's exactly what I got. Will replace them with the same thing when the time comes.

In two weeks I will have another video out with the lift. I will add it to this thread.

Thank you for the updates. I’m new to the 4Runner platform. Was originally considering the ome setup but this seemed more robust and ride quality seemed better with the foamcell. Looking forward to hearing more.

Just got back from doing a 1k mile camping trip and noticed that my LCA was black when it should have been covered in mud. I also noticed the shock body was also black and looked to be covered in grease. I emailed Ironman yesterday(Sunday) and they got back to me today. They asked for pictures, which I provided and they immediately stated they would be sending me a new strut. No idea when or where the shock started leaking, but I can say the ride quality never diminished with the oil leaking. Basically this is what the email stated "we'll get a replacement strut (45710FE) sent your way soon! Your Foam Cell Pro should be fine driving on until you get it replaced... one of the benefits of having foam." I am pretty happy with Ironmans Customer Service. They were easy to deal with for sure.
