Rubbin' it and Rubbin' it Until it's Really Red

I was taking about my truck...

First rub out with Klasse after a Xymol bath and a chamois wipe down.

Its been about a year and I have wheeled out (DA'd) the 4Runner with Klasse all-in-one maybe 3 times and it is finally smooth and slick after doing it again this weekend. I dont know what crap paint they use on these but it must be lumpy and porus on a microscopic level. The Klasse is new. The bugs stuck to the 4Runner like they were full of Superglue on my trips to Florida. Finally they come off with a little flick of a finger nail.
I haven't had to do this much work to get a nice smooth finish on any car I've owned. Even a 2003 Honda Civic my wife had that I used Nu-Finish only on was nice and slick after every application.

I'm a legit OCD-man when it comes to some car stuff like noises, but I am thankful paint isn't a worry. I'd be concerned taking it out anywhere -- sap, birds, parked near lawn sprinkler? What about parking in full grocery lots? Wearing rings?

Forget about wheeling. My first scratch hurt and then I got over it.

That said, this isn't to discount your efforts, OP. That does look good.

Lookin' good!

I still like Klasse AIO, it's pretty durable. Are you also using SG (Sealant Glaze)? Highly recommend it on top of AIO.

I have some and I used it on other vehicles. Maybe I’ll apply it next wash/polish

I just did the first detail on mine since I got it in October. Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Synthetic Sealant topped with Car Guys Liquid Wax. Read a review that the Car Guys rated best for silver cars and can last up to 6 months. Very happy with the results. Extremely slick surface. Shame it was covered in pollen in a day! Wish I took more pics of it out in the sun.

FYI: if you're truly trying to correct your paint, Klasse AIO is a super weak polishing product... it's really meant to just be a prep step before applying Klasse SG.

Yes I would agree that it has very little if any "polishing compound" it in it. I think they recommend applying it by hand. I typically wheel it on because it takes less time and its easier to do. I have to stand on a ladder to do the roof too.

Im just surprised it took 3-4 applications to get this paint to look and feel what other cars paints have taken 1 application to get to.

The "Glaze" is a "newer" product from Klasse. For years "All-in-One" is all they had.

I didn’t know SG was newer, just always thought of them as the twins lol.

I also don’t use aggressive polish or pads. most of the time only P21s paintwork cleanser followed by the Klasse twins. Sometimes I’ll clay then use a Menzerna final polish, followed by P21 and Klasse. The p21 is probably not needed since AIO also cleans, but I still have it so might as well use it.

If you start early and don’t take it to a car wash, swirls don’t build up so much.

I'd really like to find some thing to make the tires look better. I was on the "Detailing" page and there are like 1000 tire dressings people swear by .... I'd never be able to make a decision.

I use Optimum tire gel but yeah, trillions of options. I use it on all the exterior black plastic and rubber. Lasts a good while, not forever, but seems to hold up better than stuff at the local auto parts stores.

Huge bird poop from yesterday evening on the hood has dried up and flaked off. Klasse is doing its job.
