I've been considering these sliders as well. Looking for more of a backup in case of a woops than intentionally sliding down a mountain with them. But then at the same time, I don't want to be worried about bending things and discouraging me from doing more offroading.

Greenlane website says "*Will protect vehicle from rocker/door damage but not designed to be used as a high lift jack point. "

The way I understand things is (please correct me if I'm wrong), a high lift jack is just a static load of the weight of the vehicle. Whilst slipping off a rock and dropping all 4000+lbs onto a rock can quickly increase the weight of the vehicle as it lands. So if it can't even be used as jacking point, how could it actually be used as rock protection?

I wish someone would benchmark a few different brands/styles to see what works and the tradeoffs you get with size/weight/mounting options/etc... Why is it that the only manufacturer (I can find) who actually has the guts to put up a video of dropping a 4runner onto a rock with their sliders is 4x Innovations?

Funny, after putting my thoughts into writing now, I've talked myself away from buying Greenlane

I ordered a set of these (no bump out) and have not had the chance yet to put them on just yet, but for the amount of off roading I intend to do they should be perfect. I wanted a no drill install step/slider and these fit the bill for that and to me look the best of the ones I had on the short list. Where I live, rock crawling is not on the menu, will mostly be trails through the woods and occasional mud hole. So they should do more than fine for that and hopefully protect some too in the dreaded mall parking lot.

I've owned a set of their sliders since early 2020 and have been out on lots of trails with them in that time, and I've banged into at least half a dozen rocks and a few tree stumps while navigating tight trails or having a wheel slip off a rock when I took the wrong line.

I have scratches and gouges on the powder coat to prove it, but the vehicle has been 100% protected and the tubing is fine. They are plenty robust for sideways hits on a trail.

I highly recommend their stuff. Owner is very responsive and great too.

ill try to post some quality pics of my rig, I purchased the skid, front stump and sliders. I didn't want to pay duty so decided to go with a local Canadian builder.

Product came in more than beyond safe packaging and the quality is in deed top notch. Would buy this over and over again no matter what im driving.
