In my experience you'll end up wanting a re-gear. 34's were what pushed me over the edge to do it. It's considerably better off road, otherwise you'll be feathering the gas and break all the time. On road performance wise acceleration improves as well. I get 15.5 mpg on a mix of street and highway FWIW
As far as rubbing goes that looks good sitting still but it'll rub if you compress it. You'll need to trim your fender liners and maybe hammer flat or trim your pinch welds. If you can push your caster out any further I would consider that too Definitely ditch the spacers

I haven't gone up to 34s yet but moving up to a heavy 33, wow yea the difference offroad...its heinous when crawling. Prioritizing a regear now to 4.88s before a rear bumper now. On road its ok though.

Yeah there's no such thing as a light 34 either. I've been really happy with 4:56 gears even when I had 305/70's. My rig would have to be considerably heavier or on 35's to want 4:88's.

Wow! Looks good.
So at full lock in Reverse the tires don’t rub the front bumper?

You'd be surprised, that's a big assumption. Lot of these builds are nothing more than 'gram builds. I'm willing to bet this thing isn't going to see more than a dirt hill. There's going to be plenty of rubbing if that suspension is flexed out but not sure that's going to be an issue here.

One of the lighter 34" MT (well 295/70/17) I've seen is the Cooper Evolution MT weighing about 59lbs. They're only 2 ply sidewall though so I'm guess that's where they shed some weight.
They come in pretty cheap too
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Cooper-EV...Tire/761428538
I'm still riding on 285/70/17's and with all the weight I have I won't go with a bigger tire until I re-gear. She's right at the tipping point where it's still tolerable but I don't think it would drive well at all with a bigger tire.

Looks great! With the spacers removed you will gain some clearance. I think the tire is wide enough that it will still have a bold stance without spacers. Good luck when you get it off road.

I looked at the Evolution and the Cooper AT3 LTX is another relatively light AT that is worth considering too. My St Maxx's are very heavy but the off road performance and durability is worth it to me.
As far as the jump to 34's goes it frankly doesn't add much. At best you are gaining a 1/2" ish clearance, probably less when airing down.
And as you said it just an appearance/cool factor thing to most. Not rubbing seems to be judged by coming off a curb or hitting a pothole.

Body Mount Chop. The front tires will rub the body mount if you don't trim it back even with the fender well. Also a good idea to hammer the pinch weld flat there as well, so you don't slice up your new tires.

Thanks and it makes senses.
I've seen the pinch weld thing as well.

Thank you!
It would have rubbed, but the Pro's are trimmed at the port, and I trimmed another 1/4" and already moved the liner forward.
I'll be wheeling it tomorrow and will trim as needed. I bet I end of taking off another 1/4" to a 1/2" off the bumper, just to play it safe. the BMC should not give me any problems though; I think I cut it enough. My RSG plates should be here next week so I can weld them up.

Its not bad. The larger tires actualy make the ride better than the stock Nittos with the spacer lift.
At slow speeds, I can feel that they are MT's. On The Highway, so far, I think the ride is great.

I'm going to take good care of my 4Rnr, but it is in no way just a "gram build." I've already had it off road 4-5 times in the month I've owned it, and will be doing some more serious stuff this weekend, hopefully.
Isn't a 295/70 typically a 33.5"? These 285/75's are showing 34.1"
I can't find how much this tire weighs anywhere. They feel a little heavier, but honestly the extra weight kind of makes the truck feel more planted, and maybe more substantial. It only feels slightly more sluggish. I really don't think I'll regear unless I go 35's in the future.
BTW, what does a re-gear in these usually cost?

The Yokohama MT's weigh 63.3# per the Yokohama website. My same size Coopers are 65# in a AT as a reference.
A 285 /75/17 is by the exact metric measurements 33.83"x11.22". Your Yokohamas as with my Coopers are a bit taller at 34.1".
A 305/70/17 is also considered to be a 34" tire at 33.81"x12.01". They are considerably harder to fit due to the extra width.
I haven't checked re-gear costs since I re-geared my rig about 3 1/2 years ago, to give it a guess, using a pre-built clamshell from ECGS and average labor at a reputable shop I'd say $2500-$3000
Here's a link to some details on the re-gear. Search and you can find lots more info

Thanks for the info.
So it seems the Geolandar is fairly light for a 34" MT. More good news!
Aaaaaannd I'll be holding off on the re-gear at that price lol. This is just my daily driver that I'll have fun with whenever I can.
